Coach John Connell is a graduate of Arcadia University and returning to the Greyhound coaching staff for the sixth straight season in 2014. While attending Arcadia University, John started all four years, helping his team as a freshman to a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference championship and a birth into the NCAA tournament. After his sophomore season he spent the summer playing in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League where he was one of the Tennessee Thunder's top hitters.

John ended his career at Arcadia with over 200 hits and currently holds the single season record for doubles and the career records for doubles and RBI's. He was also a three time all-conference player and twice All Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American. Before attending Arcadia John graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School. While at Bethlehem Catholic, he was a two time all-conference and three time all-area team member. John has a history degree from Arcadia and is now living in Bethlehem while taking classes in Moravian College's Teaching Certification Program.
