The duo helped the Greyhounds to a third place finish at the inaugural Landmark Conference Championships on May 5-6 as the conference added both men's and women's golf to the championship slate this spring. The top six individual finishers were named to the All-Conference First Team while those finishing seventh through twelfth were named to the Second Team.
Kunkle finished sixth of 34 golfers with a two-day, 36-hole total of 162 at the Glenmaura National Golf Course in Moosic. He had a pair of birdies and 14 pars in his two rounds of 78 and 84.
Lakata placed tenth in his first postseason event with a two-day score of 166 with rounds of 79 and 87. Lakata carded one birdie and 14 pars during the tournament.
"Although we didn't finish the way we wanted to as a team it was nice for Kevin to finish his college career as a First Team selection," stated Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "Thomas has had an up and down freshman year and hopefully earning Second Team will motivate him to work even harder over the summer to get ready for next season."
