MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College junior guard Jimmy Murray has been named to the 2018 D3hoops.com Men's Basketball All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team.
Murray helped the Greyhounds to a school record 20 wins this season as the squad posted a 20-8 record, won its first-ever Landmark Conference title and played in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time in school history and first as an automatic qualifier. Murray was selected to the Landmark All-Conference First Team last month and he was also honored on the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team of the Year.
Murray lead the Hounds in scoring this winter at 17.3 points per game, and he also contributed 68 rebounds, 65 three-pointers, 58 assists and 43 steals. Murray is currently 16th in school history with 1,134 points in 75 games, and he has made a school record 168 three-pointers in his career.
"This is a great accomplishment for Jimmy and the program," stated third-year Head Coach Justin Potts. "Jimmy was great all year from start to finish. He shot and scored the ball with great efficiency and his overall ability to create offense was instrumental in our teams success. Jimmy has put the work in and it is great to see him earn the recognition."
Murray is one of 13 Greyhounds slated to return to the program next winter as Moravian looks to defend its Landmark Conference title in 2018-19.
