BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-10 decision to Drew University in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder/attack Jillian Picciuto led the Greyhounds, who are now 6-5 on the season, with three goals and an assist to go with five draw controls. Freshman midfielder Liz Bill also netted a hat trick to go with a pair of draw controls while sophomore attack Jessica Pisano and freshman midfielder Allie Brembt each scored twice.
Sophomore goalie Kelley Gavin made three saves for the Hounds while freshman defender Allie Fisher had five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Freshman defender Sarah Kunzman added four ground balls and three caused turnovers while sophomore defender Jacqueline LaCava and sophomore attack Kyleigh Miller each had three ground balls.
Drew opened the scoring five minutes into the match but Pisano scored less than a minute later to knot the score at 1-1. The Rangers would take control by scoring six of the next seven goals and led 7-3 at the intermission.
Moravian was down 9-5 after Bill scored five minutes into the second half but a three-goal run by the Rangers would push the lead to seven with 12 minutes to play.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 19 in a Landmark Conference match at Elizabethtown College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
