Bio
Michael Mayes joined Moravian as an Assistant Coach t the start of the 2022-23 season, and he became a full-time assistant prior to the 2023-24 campaign. Mayes was promoted to interim head coach for the 2025-26 season, and was named the Greyhounds' next Head Coach on February 23, 2026. Mayes recently coached at Drew University, as an assistant for Coach Darryl Keckler, on a staff which led Drew to a 18-9 season in 2021-22 (11-3 in the Landmark conference, reaching the Landmark championship game). Mayes played his college years for Drew University back in 2007-2011, where he earned his degree in Sociology. Prior to his college coaching experience, Mayes began his early years coaching AAU for the likes of ThaBallers, NJ Roadrunners, SportsU Izod & currently Jersey Force. Mayes also has experience coaching in High School as a JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant for St. Mary’s HS, Elizabeth HS and Sinai Christian Academy where he spent 3 years as the Varsity Head Coach.
