BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2018-19 athletic campaign. Before announcing the top event in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year, here is a look at the five contests that received votes from the Moravian athletic administrators but missed out on making the Top 10.

170 Greyhounds Earn Dean's List Honors for Spring 2019 Semester

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation had 170 of its student-athletes receive Dean’s List honors from the College for achieving a 3.50 or higher grade-point average during the 2019 Spring semester.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Maria DeBonis Braxmeier ’09; Tracy Fitzpatrick Franklin ’09; Jeff Pukszyn ’98; Jason Toedter ’06 and Nathaniel Tussey ’08 make up the class of 2019 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 11 in Johnston Hall. The 2005 women’s soccer and 2007 softball teams will also be inducted that night while Gene Medei ’61 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.

The next event in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 9 highlight – the softball team scoring four runs in the seventh inning to rally and defeat The University of Scranton, 4-3, in the second game of a doubleheader.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior third baseman Madison Shaneberger has been selected as the 2019 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for Softball.

Senior student-athletes from each of the programs that compete in the Landmark Conference present the Presidents' Trophy to Moravian College President Bryon L. Grigsby '90 at the annual Senior Athletic Banquet on May 8 after the Greyhounds had clinched the trophy for a second straight year.

TOWSON, Md. --- After the completion of the spring season, Moravian College claimed the top spot to lead the Landmark Presidents’ Trophy standings. The Greyhounds earned three spring titles.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Moravian College sophomore shortstop Maddisen Bieber and freshman pitcher/designated player Alexandria Scheeler have been named to the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Atlantic Region Second Team while junior pitcher Paige Lesher and sophomore catcher Brooke Wehr earned spots on the All-Region Third Team.

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has named 74 student-athletes including nine from Moravian College to the 2019 Spring All-Sportsmanship Team. The All-Sportsmanship Team includes one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team.

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has announced its 2019 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, which recognized 81 student-athletes from Moravian College. The honorees were selected from all eight Landmark Conference institutions with a total of 593 student-athletes.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College sophomore designated player Shannon Brogan has been selected to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for NCAA Division III schools in District IV.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College honored its 2019 senior student-athletes at the annual Senior Athletics Awards Banquet Wednesday night in Johnston Hall. Softball standout Kat Spilman was named the Outstanding Senior Female Athletes while men’s basketball player Oneil Holder was honored with the Outstanding Senior Male Athlete award. The Blue & Grey Scholar Athlete awards were presented to women’s soccer student-athlete Paige Kovacs and football player Nick Zambelli. The H.T.D. Gillespie Award for outstanding service to Moravian’s athletics program was presented to Terry Eddinger and Marty Jo Moyle.

No. 10 Moravian Tops Catholic In Elimination Game But Falls To Scranton In 2019 Landmark Tournament To End 2019 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The No. 10 Moravian College softball team saw its season come to a close after a pair of elimination games in the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field Saturday with the Greyhounds defeating second seed The Catholic University of America, 11-3 in six innings, before falling to fourth seed The University of Scranton, 9-6, in the final elimination game before the championship round.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The No. 10 and top seeded Moravian College softball team dropped a 5-2 decision to fourth seed The University of Scranton Friday in the opening game of the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College softball team is set for its 25th consecutive postseason appearance as the Greyhounds earned the top seed for the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on Friday, May 3 at Blue & Grey Field in Bethlehem.

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College has had ten student-athletes earn Landmark All-Conference honors including five First Team honorees with sophomore shortstop Maddisen Bieber selected as the Player of the Year, junior pitcher Paige Lesher named the Pitcher of the Year, freshman pitcher/designated player Alexandria Scheeler honored as the Rookie of the Year and Head Coach John Byrne selected as the Coach of the Year for a fourth consecutive spring.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- Moravian College senior Kat Spilman was recognized as Moravian’s Outstanding Athlete while junior Lauren Steinert was named the Most Outstanding Women's Tennis Athlete at the annual Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women annual awards luncheon at DeSales University on Wednesday.
