Duffin Earns Landmark All-Conference Honors
TOWSON, Md. --- Senior midfielder Catherine Duffin has been selected to the 2014 Landmark All-Conference Field Hockey Second Team.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior midfielder Catherine Duffin has been selected to the 2014 Landmark All-Conference Field Hockey Second Team.
"I am very proud of what Catherine has accomplished over her four years and happy that she was once again recognized as one of the top players in the Landmark Conference," commented Head Coach Amy Endler.
Duffin started in all 18 games this fall, and she led the Hounds with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists. She recorded her first career hat trick on September 17 with three goals in a 7-0 victory, and she also had an assist in the match for a career-best seven points.
Duffin's 32 career goals rank her third in school history while her eight assists in a season back in 2012 is tied for eighth in the record books. Duffin completed her career tied for first for career assists at 21, tied for third for points in a single game at seven, tied for seventh for points in a season at 26 this fall and second for career points with 85 at Moravian.
"She worked hard to lead the team in points and assists this season and climbed the record book in several categories. Being the first Moravian Field Hockey player to achieve all-conference recognition in all four years, certainly cements Catherine as one of the greatest field hockey players in our history," stated Endler
Duffin has been honored all four years of her career with Landmark All-Conference recognition making Second Team in 2011 and 2012 in addition to this season. She earned a program first when she was selected to the All-Conference First Team last season, and Duffin has been on the Landmark Fall Academic Honor Roll the past two years as well.
Duffin has been named an alternate for the 2014 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior Game.
Moravian finished the 2014 season with an 8-10 record.
