Men's Tennis Falls to Scranton, 5-4
CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. --- The Moravian College men’s tennis team fell to host The University of Scranton, 5-4, in Landmark Conference action Wednesday at the Birchwood Tennis Club.
CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team fell to host The University of Scranton, 5-4, in Landmark Conference action Wednesday at the Birchwood Tennis Club.
The Royals had a 2-1 edge after doubles action with Moravian seniors Kevin Holze and Doug Morrow posting an 8-4 win at first doubles. For Holze, it was his 39th career victory, tying him for third in school history with senior Drew Shreter, just two shy of the school record of 41 doubles wins. For Morrow, it was his 35th doubles victory, which is tied for sixth in the record books.
In singles action, the teams split the six singles matches, each winning three. Morrow posted a three-set win at second singles while Shreter had a straight sets victory at third singles as he moved into a tie for fifth in school history with his 43rd career singles win. Senior David Chan won in three sets at sixth singles for the Greyhounds.
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 14 in a Landmark Conference match at The United States Merchant Marine Academy beginning at 1:00 p.m.
