Greyhounds 13th After 1st Day of ECAC Indoor Championships
NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team is in 13th place of 25 teams scoring a point on the opening day of the 2013 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by Rutgers-Newark at the New York City Armory.
NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team is in 13th place of 25 teams scoring a point on the opening day of the 2013 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by Rutgers-Newark at the New York City Armory.
The Greyhounds scored seven points on the opening day, all of them coming in the triple jump, while SUNY Cortland stands in first place after one day of competition with 16 points. SUNY Brockport is second overall with 14 points while The College of New Jersey and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are tied for third with 13 points.
Junior Kristopher Joint finished fourth in the triple jump for Moravian with a distance of 14.41 meters (47 feet, 3 1/2 inches) to score five points in the event. Senior Travis King was seventh in the triple jump at 14.22 meters (46 feet, eight inches), equaling his season best jump and earning two points.
Moravian had two other competitors on the opening day of competition with junior David Cariello placing 22nd in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.73 seconds, and freshman Jason Fuehring competing in the triple jump.
The Greyhounds will return to action in the second day of the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday, March 2nd with competition beginning at 10:00 a.m.
