Softball Ranked 6th in East Region in 1st NCAA Regional Poll of 2012
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team is ranked sixth in the East Region in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the 2012 season released Wednesday.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team is ranked sixth in the East Region in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the 2012 season released Wednesday.
The Greyhounds are 23-9 overall and now 19-7 in-region, one of the main criteria's for the ranking. Montclair State University is ranked first in the region and is followed by The College of New Jersey, Rowan University, William Paterson University, Ramapo College of New Jersey, Moravian, Kean University and Susquehanna University rounds out the top eight in the regional poll. Moravian swept a doubleheader versus Kean, split a doubleheader with Susquehanna and lost a game to The College of New Jersey. The Greyhounds are playing Ramapo on Thursday. Moravian has defeated Emerson (Mass.) College, ranked sixth in the Northeast Region and lost to Ohio Northern University, which is second in the Central Region.
Moravian returns to the field on Thursday, April 19 in non-conference doubleheader versus Ramapo beginning at 3:30 p.m.
