Moravian Women's Cross Country Earns 2011 USTFCCCA Team All-Academic Award
The Moravian College women’s cross country teams has been named one of 187 teams that earned the 2011 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Cross Country status.
NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College women's cross country teams has been named one of 187 teams that earned the 2011 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Cross Country status.
The Greyhounds posted a team GPA of 3.19, and were one of four Landmark Conference teams to earn the honors, joining The Catholic University of America, Goucher College and Susquehanna University. This is the second straight year the Moravian women's squad has earned the award. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better.
Moravian, under the direction of first-year head coach Jesse Baumann, captured its first Landmark Conference Championship this fall, and then tied for 14th of 47 schools at the 2011 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional.
Last week, senior Cadee Rockwell (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson West Lawn HS) was one of 183 student-athletes from 96 NCAA Division III institutions to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Rockwell was named the 2011 Landmark Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year and earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team after winning the 2011 Landmark Conference Championship hosted by Moravian. She then earned All-Region honors with a 22nd place finish at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by DeSales University.
