Jeff Pukszyn is entering his second season as Moravian's head coach in 2012.  He took over the position on July 1, 2011 after ten years as assistant head coach. In his first season, Pukszyn coached one All-American and three All-Centennial Conference players.

Pukszyn joined the Moravian staff as a part-time coach in 1997 after a three-year playing career that saw him named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference First Team in 1994 and 1996. He was also a two-time captain. Pukszyn joined the coaching staff full-time in 1999 as defensive coordinator and added the titles of assistant head coach in 2001 and special teams coordinator in 2007. He has been a part of 185 games for Moravian since 1994 with a 95-89-1 record.

Pukszyn coached one Division III Second Team All-American in 2001 in Jarrod Pence. That season, Pence led the country in passes defended with 31, and he had five interceptions and 51 tackles. Pence was also selected to the 2002 American Football Coaches Association DIII All-Star team. Pukszyn has also produced three 100 tackle players and four shutouts in his 11 years as defensive coordinator.

In 2008, he coached the Greyhound defense to 11th in nation in Division III in turnover margin at 1.27 turnovers per game. He also had the defense ranked 42nd in the nation in pass defense only allowing 162.1 yards a game, and 42nd in scoring defense only allowing 17.8 points a game. They were also ranked 54th in total defense, only giving up 299.7 yards a game. They also had a terrific third-down percentage at 31 percent.

He had a career best in 2002 when he led Moravian’s defense to only allowing 16.4 points a game. Their rush defense was also good, allowing just six touchdowns on the ground and 93.9 yards a game. In 1999 and 2000, Pukszyn led the defense to 27 sacks each season.

Pukszyn will be the 12th head coach since Moravian’s football program was reinstituted in 1930 and just the fourth head coach since 1955. Moravian has an all-time record of 363-330-26 over 86 years.

He resides in Bethlehem with his wife Erin and children: Emma, Jacob and Cole.
