Why did you choose Moravian College?
I chose Moravian College because I knew that I wanted to
attend a college where I could participate in athletics and also
excel in the classroom. After visiting my sister who graduated from
Moravian in 2010 and attending a few of her field hockey games, I
knew that Moravian was the college for me. My mother who is an
employee at Moravian also influenced my decision to come to this
college.
What is your major and why?
I have recently been declared as a sociology major and
psychology minor. I found sociology to be very interesting after
taking multiple courses in high school; I want to be able to help
out as many people as possible.
What has been your favorite course at Moravian and
why?
So far, my favorite course has been Legal Environment of
Business. It has opened my eyes to the legal system and what it has
to offer. I retained a substantial amount of knowledge about an
individual's rights by taking this course that I had no idea about
before.
What are your plans for the future once you finish your
degree at Moravian?
I hope to get a job in the counseling field or as a social
worker.
What is your most memorable moment as a
Greyhound?
My most memorable moment was being named defensive player
of the week twice during my sophomore year.
How has being an athlete helped you as a student?
Being a student-athlete at Moravian has helped me keep a
strong commitment to field hockey and to my studies. I make a
schedule for all of my games, practices, and team events and I also
make a schedule for all of my tests, quizzes, and assignment due
date. Being a student-athlete has led me to become a part of the
Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, and to be ranked in the
final NCAA Division III field hockey statistics.
What is the hardest part of your sport?
The hardest part of playing field hockey is understanding
all of the rules and basics of the sport. Once all of the players
have full knowledge of the sport and communication with each other,
you will have a successful team.
Why do you wear your jersey number?
Since I am a goalkeeper, I wear jersey number 01. I do not have a
specific number that I choose wear, but I try to represent whatever
number I am given.
What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian
College student-athlete?
Work your hardest at all times, you never know when you
will be given the opportunity to play your game. Play every game
like it's your last and leave everything on the field. Also be
prepared to work hard on the field and in the classroom!
