Why did you choose Moravian College?
I wanted to attend a small school that had my major and
was relatively close to my home. Moravian was the perfect
size, location and had a great academic reputation.
What is your major and why?
I am a historical studies major getting my teaching
certification in Elementary Education. I chose my major
because I’ve always wanted to have a job that not only
benefits myself but also benefits the people around me. I am
a firm believer in serving your community in some
capacity.
What has been your favorite course at Moravian and
why?
CCID 202 Happiness: The Holy Grail of Western Society
with Naomi Gal. This course was a very unique course.
It was mostly based around my own happiness and what makes me that
way. It was a great course with a great professor.
What are your plans for the future once you finish your
degree at Moravian?
I plan on finding a teaching job back home in Northern
New Jersey.
What is your most memorable moment as a
Greyhound?
When we played Susquehanna University on a very cold and
windy day. I ended up losing the first set after having the
lead but won the second set and beat my opponent in a third set
tie-break. I was very proud of how I kept fighting.
How has being an athlete helped you as a student?
Time management. I have a very busy schedule with
class and tennis so I cannot procrastinate if I want to do succeed
academically. Being a student athlete forces me to manage my
time wisely which is such an important skill to have.
What is the hardest part of your sport?
Tennis is a very mental game, which is often
overlooked. You not only have to be physically fit but you
also have to be mentally tough.
What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian
College student-athlete?
Come to Moravian and definitely play a sport. Being
on a team has so many benefits, such as the relationships that you
form with you teammates and coaches. Plus this will probably
be your last time to play a sport at a competitive level.
It's definitely well worth it.
