Men's Cross Country Captures Landmark Conference Title
The Moravian College men's cross country team won its first Landmark Conference title at the the 2011 championship meet hosted by the Greyhounds at Lehigh University's Goodman Campus. The race was was shortened from its scheduled 8,000-meters due to a tree falling from the heavy wet snow and blocking the a portion course. By the time the men's race began at 2:00 p.m., there were nearly four inches of snow on the course. This is the first conference Championship the Moravian men's cross country team has won since 1998.

Senior Matthew Lutcza, pictured and the defending individual champion, led the way for the Greyhounds and took second place with a 24:24.80 to earn Landmark All-Conference First Team honors. Junior Donnie Noble took fourth place with a time of 24:48.10 while freshman Alec Duncan finished sixth with a time of 25:08.70 and was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. Both Noble and Duncan earned spots on the Landmark All-Conference First Team as well.
Junior Dylan Marton took tenth with a time of 25:31.70 to earn a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team while freshman Dillon Farrell finished in 16th place with a time of 26:21.70. Freshman Corey Schauerman took 48th with a time of 27:52.40 while classmate Eddie Garcia finished in 70th with a time of 29:12.60.
The Greyhounds will run again on Saturday, November 12th at the 2011 NCAA Division III Mideast Region Championship at DeSales University. The race is scheduled for 11 a.m.
