Moravian Wins Big over Lycoming on Senior Day

How It Happened
- The Hounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first minute of action as senior attack Victoria Salica scored. Junior midfielder Bailey Leatherman and sophomore midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger added tallies to make it 3-0 before the Warriors got on the scoreboard with 5:28 left in the first period to make it 3-1. Hunsinger scored again with just over a minute left in the quarter to give the Blue & Grey a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes of action
- Moravian netted all nine goals scored in the second quarter to stretch the advantage to 13-1 at the intermission. Salica started the period with another goal while graduate student midfielder Kerry Seiler, junior attack Melissa Elefonte and Leatherman each had two goals and Hunsinger and sophomore midfielder Ella Steirer both had one goal in the period
- The Greyhounds tacked on three more goals in the third quarter with Hunsinger netting two and Elefonte scoring once to make it 16-1 after 45 minutes of play
- Lycoming scored the first goal in the fourth quarter while Leatherman added two more goals and Elefonte and Steirer each scored one to finish off the contest
- Prior to the match, the Greyhounds honored graduate student Kerry Seiler and seniors Gianna Lotito, Grace Nelson and Victoria Salica for their contributions to the program
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had seven different players record a point led by Elefonte posting a career high 12 points on four goals and eight assists to tie for the third most points in a contest. Elefonte also had three ground balls and three caused turnovers in the contest
- Hunsinger contributed five goals and two assists to go with nine draw controls and two caused turnovers while Leatherman added five goals and an assist
- Salica registered two goas and an assist while Steirer and Seiler both netted two goals with Steirer adding a pair of draw controls and Seiler posting four caused turnovers and three ground balls
- Sophomore attack Faith Mahoskey had an assist in the match while junior midfielder Reagan Reiner added four ground balls and sophomore defender Alanna McBrearty contributed three caused turnovers and three ground balls
- Nelson, junior defender Maia Machado and sophomore defender Mia Faisetty all scooped up two ground balls
- Sophomore goalie Lily Parker recorded seven saves in the match
- The Hounds finished with a 46-14 advantage in shots, a 25-14 edge in ground balls, a 14-8 advantage in draw controls and went 12-for-17 on clearing attempts
