Greyhounds Finish Fourth in Lehigh Invitational to Begin the 2024 Season
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s cross country team opened the 2024 season with a fourth place finish at the Lehigh University Invitational run Friday evening at the Goodman Campus.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds scored 103 points while the University of Delaware finished first with 30 points
- Junior Tara Smurla placed fifth of the 67 runners with a time of 22:30.5 on the 6,000-meter course
- Senior Rachael Goodman crossed the line next, finishing in 34th with a time of 24:17.9 while sophomore Kayla O'Neil was 38th in 24:37.6
- Senior Amber Poniktera took 44th with a time of 24:58.6 while junior Meghan Myers was 47th at 25:05.9
- Junior Sarah Rice placed 48th in 25:11.1, and she was followed by senior Lexi Rushatz in 49th with a time of 25:35.2 and freshman Celia Knoedler in 51st at 25:54.4
- Moravian had six other runners in the meet with senior Ally Meeks running 26:13.9, sophomore Kierstyn Klingner finishing in 27:10.4, senior Lily Mingora recording a time of 27:12.5, freshman Cheyenne McCarthy running 27:17.19, freshman Caroline Emmerich recording a 27:27.9 and freshman Emerson Beamer finishing in 27:45.3
