Men's Cross Country Finishes 13th at Regionals
The Moravian College men's cross country team placed 13th of 47 teams at the 2011 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship hosted by DeSales University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 360 while Haverford College won the meet with a team total of 52. Dickinson College was second with a 129. Senior Matthew Lutcza earned All-Region honors for the second straight season after placing 27th of 328 runners with a time of 26:22 on the 8,000-meter course, which is the 15th best time in school history. Lutcza will find out Saturday evening or Sunday morning if he has earned a berth to next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championship race for a second consecutive year.
Freshman Dillon Farrell placed 57th in the race with a time of 27:11 to earn Freshman All-Region accolades as one of the top seven freshman in the race while freshman Alec Duncan was 78th in 27:32. Junior Dylan Marton took 90th in 27:48 while junior Donnie Noble was 110th in a time of 28:07. Freshman Corey Schaurman was 265th in the meet in 30:53.
The 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship race is scheduled for Saturday, November 19th at The University of Oshkosh.
