Moravian is looking for its sixth straight Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship this spring as the Greyhounds have won every Landmark Conference Track & Field title in the history of the conference. Senior All-American jumper Micah Leonard (York, Pa./William Penn HS) will anchor the squad this year after earning Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors again last month. Both Leonard and junior Allison Vanek (Riegelsville, Pa./Wilson HS) competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships earning All-American honors. Freshman Corinne Glass (West Chester, Pa./Avon Grove HS) made a splash at the Landmark Indoor Championships and was recognized with Co-Rookie of the Year honors.
Susquehanna will rely on their depth in the throws and distance areas. Freshman Ashley West was voted Landmark Cross Country Rookie of the Year this fall and followed up with Co-Rookie of the Year and Track Athlete of the Year recognition this winter.
Juniata is bolstered by senior Angela Shaffer and junior Katrina Woods. The duo anchored the Eagles at last year's outdoor championships and combined to win three events last month at the indoor championships.
The Catholic University of America and Goucher College tied for fourth in the poll with 27 points while the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy was picked sixth with 15 points.
The 2012-13 season kicks off on Saturday when Juniata travels to Lynchburg College for the Dr. Jack Toms Invite. Moravian's first meet of the outdoor season is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 22nd and 23rd when the Greyhounds head to the Washington & Lee (Va.) University Carnival. Goucher will host the Landmark Championships April 27-28.
