TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior sprinter Abby Giamoni has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Giamoni, who earned her second Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honor of the indoor season, took first in the 400-meter dash at the Ithaca (N.Y.) College Bomber Invitational in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 59.05 seconds. She also won the 200-meter dash with an AARTF qualifying time of 26:08 seconds, and Giamoni placed fourth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying time of 8.05 seconds.
"Abby has been in great form all season, and she once again showcased her ability to win big races this week," stated Assistant Sprint Coach Sean McFarland. "As we approach some of our bigger, more competitive meets this season, Abby's efforts in practice should really start to shine from this week forward. She still has a lot of time left to drop based on some of her predictors at practice, and we have been working on fine-tuning parts of her races to prepare her for the championship season in a few weeks. We are excited to see what she can do when she puts it all together against more competition."
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to competition on Saturday, February 8 when the team travels to the Franklin & Marshall College Blue & White Invitational beginning at 9:30 a.m.
