Moravian Wins Three Events & Leads 2025 Landmark Conference Championships after Opening Day
SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s outdoor track & field team won three events and recorded six All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks on the first day of the 2025 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday being hosted by Susquehanna University. The Greyhounds lead the eight teams that have scored with 82 points while Elizabethtown College and the host River Hawks are tied for second with 33 points.

Moravian Event Winners
- Junior Tara Smurla won the first event of the meet, taking first in the 10,000-meter run in an AARTFC qualifying time of 38:37.61
- Junior Margie Rayne captured the title in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.24 meters (145-1)
- Rayne also won the shot put with an AARTFC qualifying distance of 12.64 meters (41-5.75)
Moravian Scoring Finishers
- Freshman Jessica Heydt was the runner-up in the hammer throw at 44.20 meters (145-0) while senior Caillie Fish placed third at 43.52 meters (142-9), senior Mikayla Woodring finished fourth at 42.90 meters (140-9), senior Liz Miskovsky was fifth at 42.79 meters (140-4) and junior Karalyn Vashey took seventh at 42.71 meters (140-1)
- Junior Ali Haefele placed fourth in the long jump with an AARTFC qualifying and PR leap of 5.45 meters (17-10.75) while freshman Emma Shafnisky took fifth with an AARTFC qualifying and PR distance of 5.43 meters (17-9.75)
- Woodring was fourth in the shot put at 11.72 meters (38-5.5)
- Senior Ally Meeks finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run in 41:14.57 while junior Meghan Myers was sixth in 41:41.06 and freshman Katherine Board took eighth in 4:02.39
- Freshman Tessa Hopkins placed fifth in the pole vault at a height of 2.95 meters (9-8)
- Sophomore Kierstyn Klingner took eighth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:58.88
Preliminary Events
- Shafnisky placed fifth in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles in an AARTFC qualifying time of 15.40 seconds to move into the finals on Sunday
- Senior Abby Giamoni took fifth in the prelims of the 200-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.61 seconds
