Freshman Harriers Shine at Mule-Falcon Classic
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A freshman foursome got their chance to represent the Moravian College women’s cross country team on Saturday at the Mule-Falcon Classic at Cedar Crest College, and they did not disappoint.
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A freshman foursome got their chance to represent the Moravian College women's cross country team on Saturday at the Mule-Falcon Classic at Cedar Crest College, and they did not disappoint.
The Greyhounds did not factor into the team scoring at the race, but all four Moravian runners placed in the top 15 out of 63 participants on Saturday morning.
Megan Brockett led that group, finishing in sixth place overall with a 20:39.13 time at the 5,000-meter distance. The race's winner clocked in at 19:45.24.
Larissa Strycharz and Sarah Hughes finished back-to-back in ninth and 10th place, respectively. Strycharz stopped the clock at 21:06.15, while Hughes finished the 5K in 21:11.33.
Erin Love capped a strong showing from the Greyhound rookies with a 15th place finish in 21:58.02.
The full Moravian squad will be back on the trails for next Saturday's Dickinson College Long/Short Course Invitational. The women are scheduled to leave the starting line at 12:30 p.m.
