TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior Heidi Wegscheider has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Weigscheider averaged 79.3 strokes over three rounds, and she earned one medalist honor and shot the lowest round in program history during the week. Wegscheider carded an 81 with a pair of birdies and seven pars to earn medalist honors as the Greyhounds defeated Marywood University and Misericordia University in a tri-match. Wegscheider tied for fourth of the 46 golfers in the two-day Golden Oaks Shootout hosted by Arcadia University with a 36-hole total of 157. Wegscheider carded the lowest round in program history in the second round on Monday with a two-over par round of 74 that included three birdies and 11 pars. She had an opening round of 83 that included two birdies and eight pars. For the week, Wegscheider recorded seven birdies and 26 pars in her 54 holes.
"Heidi's perseverance and determination to push through adversity continues to shine through her last few rounds," stated Director of Golf Noah Kandt.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Sunday, October 19 in a dual match versus Wilkes University at the Wyoming Valley Country Club beginning at 1:00 p.m.
