TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has named 94 student-athletes including ten from Moravian University to the 2026 Spring All-Sportsmanship Team. The All-Sportsmanship Team includes one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team.
The All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. The student-athletes selected demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat. They are ambassadors for the team, both on and off the field, and galvanize their teammates toward their goals. These student-athletes exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, spectators, and the greater campus community.
The All-Sportsmanship Team was created by the Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in 2013 as a way to highlight student-athletes who are making an impact. The Landmark previously awarded a Sportsmanship Cup before the All-Sportsmanship Team replaced the Cup for the 2013-14 academic year.

Baseball
Senior first baseman Sean Superka earned his first selection to All-Sportsmanship Team. Superka set a school record this spring by being hit by a pitch 21 times, and he added 30 hits, 25 runs, 12 doubles, a triple, 18 RBIs and 20 walks at the plate to go with 252 putouts and eight assists in the field. In his career, Superka connected 40 hits, 36 runs, 17 doubles, one triple, two home runs, 27 RBIs, 26 walks and 28 hit-by-pitch to go along with 332 putouts and 11 assists.
“Sean Superka represents everything you hope for in a student-athlete — respect for the game, leadership toward teammates, and integrity in competition,” stated Head Coach Douglas Coe. “Being named to the Spring All-Sportsmanship Team is a reflection of the way he carries himself both on and off the field. This recognition is well deserved, and we’re proud to see him represent our baseball program in such a positive way.”
Softball
Senior outfielder Madison Berning is part of the Greyhounds’ squad that is 32-10 overall and set to host an NCAA Division III Regional at Blue & Grey Field on May 14-16. Moravian won its 13th Landmark Conference title this season. This spring, Berning has collected three hits, a run and two RBIs to go with nine putouts. In her career, Berning has 16 hits, 11 runs, ten RBIs, three doubles and nine walks to go with 23 putouts and two assists in 44 games.
Track & Field
Senior sprinter/jumper Jacob Fenstermaker was part of the Greyhound squad that won the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships at Juniata College. Fenstermaker scored 28 points in the conference meet as he earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors by winning the 100-meter dash and Second Team accolades for runner-up finishes in the 200-meter dash, long jump and 4x100-meter relay.
“In my 15 years here, we’ve likely had equals, but it’s hard for me to recall any better leaders on our team,” noted Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann. “Jake routinely diverted his focus at practice and would instruct teammates on corrections he noticed in the block starts or other technical adjustments they could benefit from. His maturity and respectfulness are front and center to the way he conducts himself every day. The rapport and camaraderie within our conference is as positive and strong as it has ever been, and Jake is unquestionably a big part of that. He is extremely competitive but succeeds with grace and respect towards even his toughest rivals. I said this to him after Landmarks that the positivity within our sprints-jumps-hurdle group is the best it has ever been here, and he and his positive attributes were key reasons for that.”
Senior sprinter Shai Knight helped the Hounds to a runner-up finish at the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship. Knight earned Landmark All-Conference Second Team honors in the 4x100-meter relay, and she was also fourth in the 400-meter dash and part of the fourth place 4x400-meter relay squad.
“Shai is as kind and welcoming as any athlete we've had in my time here,” Baumann commented. She has an infectious positivity and enthusiasm that you can't help but have your spirits lifted by. You could see the reflection of that when she finished 4th in the 400 at Landmarks and the team lit up and ran over to congratulate her race because she’s the type of person you want to root for. She has a strong competitive spirit, but she’s also extremely respectful towards her competitors, so she is the perfect balance of everything a coach wants to see in an athlete representing Moravian.”
Tennis
Senior Ryan Burke helped Moravian to a 15-6 record, the program’s first-ever Landmark Conference title and the team’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Burke posted a 5-9 mark in singles action this year with a 4-1 slate in Landmark Conference action, and he was 12-7 in doubles play. Burke finished his career with a 45-17 mark in singles action and 26-14 in doubles.
“Ryan has been one of the best leaders we’ve had in our program and a huge part of our success this year and over the past three seasons,” noted Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. “Since his freshman year, he’s been an outstanding teammate: always supportive of his teammates and coaches, fully bought into the program, and constantly looking for ways to improve. He’s always asking questions, wanting to grow, and pushing himself to become a better leader, and that’s what makes him such a special person to coach. This recognition is not just about performance, but about the character, composure, leadership, and body language he consistently brings every day both on and off the court.”
Junior Sydney Shifman was honored on the 2026 Landmark All-Conference Second Team in doubles this season as she helped the Hounds to an 18-4 record, the Landmark Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament with the Greyhounds winning a First Round mark. Shifman was 18-4 in singles while playing at second, third and fourth singles, and she combined with freshman Natalia Smith for a 13-5 slate at second doubles. Shifman is 48-9 in singles action and 43-16 in doubles play in her three seasons.
“Sydney is extremely deserving of this recognition,” Freitas explained. “One of her greatest strengths is the calmness and composure she brings to the court every match. She consistently treats opponents with kindness and respect, competes fairly, and carries herself with great professionalism at all times. This award is about much more than performance, it reflects character, sportsmanship, and the way you represent yourself and your program, and Sydney exemplifies all of those qualities.”
Lacrosse
Sophomore defender Alanna McBrearty helped the women’s lacrosse program to a 13-6 mark, a school record for victories in a season, and the program’s eighth straight Landmark Conference Tournament appearance as Moravian won a First Round match. McBrearty, who earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team, contributed an assist, 24 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers and a draw control this season. She has an assist, 24 ground balls, 26 caused turnovers and one draw control in 34 career matches over the last two years.
Senior defender Mike Sickler started in 16 matches this spring as Moravian went 10-7 and reached the Landmark Conference Tournament for the third consecutive year. Sickler had 36 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers in 2026, and he completed his career with an assist, 120 ground balls and 87 caused turnovers.
Golf
Senior Robbie McNelly helped the Greyhounds to a runner-up finish at the 2026 Landmark Conference Championships by finishing in a tie for 17th among the 50 golfers with a 155 over the 36-hole tournament. McNelly, who averaged 79.16 strokes per round this season, finished his career with a 79.90 average of 71.5 rounds, which ranks 14th in program history.
“Robbie showed his passion and care for the game of golf in many ways, including his support of his fellow playing partners,” stated Director of Golf Noah Kandt. “He enjoyed seeing everyone playing well and looked forward to interacting with the people he was playing with each round.”
Senior Ryan Hausknecht finished 45th at the 2026 Landmark Conference Championships with a 36-hole score of 229. Hausknecht averaged 123.47 strokes per round, and she had a 127.17 career average of 26.5 rounds the last two seasons.
“One of Ryan’s favorite aspects of competition in golf is getting to know the people she was playing with,” Kandt said. “Whether she was playing well or not, it never changed her attitude and support towards her playing partners, which is a great testament to who she is.”
