Moravian Thanks More Than 2,100 Supporters During the Athletics Giving Challenge from November 10-16
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University Department of Athletics and Recreation says Thank You to more than 2,100 supporters that supported the Greyhounds’ 2025 Athletics Giving Challenge from November 10-16, 2025.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University Department of Athletics and Recreation says Thank You to more than 2,100 supporters that supported the Greyhounds' 2025 Athletics Giving Challenge from November 10-16, 2025.
The challenge began with an initial goal of 2,000 supporters in seven days and ended up seeing Moravian have 2,173 individual supporters make gifts online, in person or through the mail to the athletic department totaling $172,104.34.
"Thank you to our alumni, faculty, staff, family and friends who contributed to make our Athletics Giving Challenge such a huge success. We are grateful for all of your unwavering support to Moravian University Athletics and our student athletes. Every gift is used to enhance the student athletes' experience. Thank you," stated Director of Athletics and Recreation and Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk.
Every program benefited from donors during the week, and 19 programs saw donations total more than $2,000 for the specific sport. Ten programs –men's lacrosse, baseball, softball, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, men's soccer, track & field, golf and football– all topped 100 donors with men's lacrosse recording a high of 346. Thirteen sports – football, men's lacrosse, women's basketball, softball, baseball, women's lacrosse, golf, track & field, men's soccer, men's basketball, men's tennis, swimming and cross country – received more than $5,000 in donations with men's lacrosse leading the week at $25,040. Baseball, football, women's basketball, golf and softball also total more than $10,000. Moravian's Blue & Grey Club general fund also received more than $3,500 from 56 supporters to benefit all the Greyhounds' athletic programs and the Hounds' sports medicine department garnered $347 and the sports performance program received $1,995. The Rocco Calvo Scholarship Fund earned $2,455.
