The 23rd-ranked Moravian College softball team won its third straight game at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida, defeating Northwestern (MN) College, 11-0 in five innings.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Senior outfielder Olivia Evanko hit a one-out single and scored on an RBI double from sophomore first baseman Amanda Dizinno. Freshman catcher Taylor Mihalik hit an RBI triple to score Dizinno while Mihalik crossed the play on an RBI single from sophomore third baseman Shannen Mohr.
Moravian scored six times in the bottom half of the third for a 9-0 lead. Mihalik had a two-RBI single for the Greyhounds as did sophomore shortstop Rebekah Battersby. After a run scored on an error, freshman outfielder Alycia Sabol had an RBI single to score Battersby with the last run of the inning, giving Moravian a big enough lead for the NCAA eight-run rule after five innings.
The Greyhounds did score twice more in the bottom of the fourth when freshman outfielder Melissa Cottone hit a two-RBI single.
Moravian had a 12-2 advantage in hits in the game with Mihalik going two-for-two and Dizinno turning in a two-for-three performance.
Senior Elizabeth Python picked up her first win and shutout of the season in the circle for the Greyhounds, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters. Kelsey Timm took the loss for Northwestern.
