#21 Greyhounds Rally to Win 6-5 Over Piedmont
The second seed and 21st-ranked Moravian College softball team rallied from a 4-1 deficit after three innings to win a 6-5 victory over fourth seed Piedmont (GA) College Saturday afternoon in the second game on the second day of the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament SUNY Cortland Regional.

The Greyhounds will play the top seed and host Red Dragons in the final game between undefeated teams at 4:00 p.m. The winner of the game will move into Sunday's championship round and need just one win to advance to the 2011 NCAA Division III World Series next weekend in Salem, Virginia.
Moravian jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when senior second baseman Stephanie Falzarano led off the game with a double and scored on a two-out RBI single from sophomore third baseman Shannen Mohr.
The Lady Lions would score twice in the bottom half of the first to take a 2-1 lead when catcher Emily Cheek hit an RBI fielder's choice and designated player/pitcher B.J. Confer connected on an RBI sacrifice fly.
Piedmont scored two more in the bottom of the third to pull ahead 4-1. Outfielder Raley White had an RBI double in the inning while Cofer had an RBI single.
The Greyhounds would get a run back in the top of the fourth when Mohr led off the top of the fourth inning with a solo home run, her third homer of the season.
Moravian pulled within a run, 4-3, in the top of the fifth inning when freshman outfielder Miranda Sergas reached on an error with two outs and scored on an RBI single from Mohr.
Piedmont would get the run back in the bottom half of the fifth to move ahead 5-3 when shortstop Megan McClain walked to start the inning and scored on an error by Moravian.
The Greyhounds scored three times in the top of the sixth inning to take a 6-5 lead. Sophomore first baseman Amanda Dizinno reached on a fielder's choice while senior outfielder Maura Agnew reached on an error. After Falzarano walked to load the bases, Sergas hit a two-RBI double to score Dizinno and Agnew. After the second out of the inning, Mohr connected on an RBI single to score Falzarano with the winning run.
Moravian had a 9-7 advantage in hits with Mohr going four-for-four for the Greyhounds with four RBIs while Falzarano, pictured at right, was two-for-three with a pair of runs scored. McClain went three-for-three with three runs for Piedmont while White was two-for-three with an RBI.
Junior Jenna Carmon earned the win for the Greyhounds in the circle, allowing three runs, two earned on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in seven innings of action. Sophomore Alyssa Fegely faced two batters to start game and allowed a pair of hits and two runs for Moravian.
Brittney Head took the loss for Piedmont after giving up six runs, three earned, on nine hits and three walks to go with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Cofer tossed the final 2/3 of an inning with one walk.
