Moravian Rallies Past Trine to Finish Road Trip to RussMatt Invitational
AUBURNDALE, Fla. --- The Moravian University baseball squad rallied in the eighth inning to earn a 4-3 victory over Trine (Ind.) University Saturday morning in the Hounds’ final game at the RussMatt Invitational in Florida.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Freshman shortstop David Vozzo singled to lead off the game, and he raced home on an RBI sacrifice fly by freshman third baseman Troy Rabosky
- The Thunder answered with a run in the bottom of the second to knot the score at 1-1, and Trine scored again in the bottom of the third for a 2-1 edge
- Moravian scored three times in the top of the eighth frame to move back in front, 4-2. Freshman second baseman Nathan Jones led off with a single and stole second base. After an error allowed graduate student center fielder David Olsakowski to reach, Vozzo ripped an RBI single to score Jones. Graduate student designated hitter Cole Cherkas walked and sophomore first baseman Wyatt Harrar was hit by a pitch to load the bases before Rabosky was hit by a pitch to force Vozzo home with the go-ahead run. Senior Nick Henry came on to pinch hit and drew an RBI walk to send Cherkas across the plate
- The Thunder pushed a run home and had the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth when the Greyhounds got the final out
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had seven hits with Vozzo going 4-for-5 with two runs, a double and an RBI
- Jones contributed a run and a hit while Harrar and graduate student left fielder/catcher Connor Wengryn both had one hit
- Harrar picked up a pair of RBIs while Henry added an RBI
- Freshman Andrew Sagrestano started on the hill and had a career-high eight strikeouts in five innings of action. Freshman Cam Elicier tossed an inning with one strikeout while senior Matt Snyder pitched two innings with four strikeouts to improve to 3-0 on the year. Sophomore Nick Leonard earned his first save of the season with three strikeouts in the ninth
