Harrar Named as Landmark Conference Baseball Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore first baseman Wyatt Harrar has been named as the Landmark Conference Baseball Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore first baseman Wyatt Harrar has been named as the Landmark Conference Baseball Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Harrar hit .421 to lead the Greyhounds at the plate during a 4-3 week at the RussMatt Invitational. He was 8-for-19 at the plate with seven extra-base hits including two doubles and five home runs for a 1.316 slugging percentage, and Harrar scored nine runs, had 16 RBIs, drew eight walks, was hit by a pitch and had a sacrifice fly for a .586 on-base percentage. He also had 34 putouts and three assists in 37 chances at first base. Harrar began the week with a 3-for-4 game versus Clark (Mass.) with two homers including his second grand slam of the season and third of his career to go with a double, five RBIs and two runs. Harrar had a home run and three RBIs in each game of a doubleheader versus Concordia-Moorehead (Minn.), and he was 2-for-3 with three runs, a double, a homer and five RBIs in a win over Keystone in the opening game of a doubleheader before drawing three walks in the nightcap.
"Wyatt had a great week leading our offense during our spring break trip," commented Head Coach Douglas Coe. "It felt like each time our team needed to set the tone of the game or get a big hit, Wyatt came through for us. It was a lot of fun watching him come into his own at the plate."
The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Wednesday, March 12 when the team hosts Saint Elizabeth (N.J.) University in a non-conference game beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Gillespie Field as Moravian plays its first home game of the season.
