Moravian Men Traveling to Susquehanna University for Landmark Conference First Round Contest on February 25
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s basketball team has earned the fifth seed in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament and heads to fourth seed Susquehanna University for a First Round game on Tuesday, February 25 with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. at O.W. Houts Gymnasium in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's basketball team has earned the fifth seed in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament and heads to fourth seed Susquehanna University for a First Round game on Tuesday, February 25 with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. at O.W. Houts Gymnasium in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
Admission to Tuesday's games is $10 for adults and $5 for minors ages 10-17. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID. The Greyhounds, who are making their first postseason appearance since 2020, are 16-9 overall this season and completed the Landmark regular season with a 11-7 mark while the River Hawks are 14-11 overall and 11-7 in Landmark action. Susquehanna earned the tiebreaker by going 1-1 versus Wilkes University in conference play while the Hounds dropped both games to the Colonels. During the regular season, each team won at home with Moravian capturing an 89-84 victory in Johnston Hall on November 23 after rallying from a 20-point deficit and Susquehanna winning 92-69 in Selinsgrove on January 25. The Greyhounds' last postseason game was a 76-43 loss to the River Hawks on February 26, 2020 in the Landmark Conference Semifinals.
Tuesday's other first round contest has third seed Wilkes University hosting sixth seed The University of Scranton at 7:00 p.m. In the Semifinals on Thursday, February 27, top seed Drew University will host the winner of the Moravian/Susquehanna game at 7:00 p.m. while No. 2 seed The Catholic University of America hosts the winner of Wilkes/Scranton contest at 7:00 p.m. The top remaining seed will host the 2025 Landmark Conference title game on Saturday, March 1 with an automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament on the line.
Moravian Head Coach Darryl Keckler has the Greyhounds in the postseason in his third season in Bethlehem. The Blue and Grey are making their seventh trip to the Landmark Conference Tournament. The Hounds have scored more than 100 points five times this season, tying the program record including a school record 115 points in Johnston Hall versus Elizabethtown College on February 8. Moravian has also tied the school record with 22 three-pointers made versus Dickinson College on December 30.
Leading the post players is junior forward Marquis Ratcliff, who has averages of 19.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game to go along with 46 blocked shots, 24 steals, 32 assists and 17 three-pointers, and Ratcliff was selected as the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization Men's Player of the Year this week. Freshman forward Jametric Harris is contributing 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest to go with 24 assists, 21 blocked shots, 19 three-pointers and 19 steals while junior forward Liam Cummiskey has 92 points, 49 rebounds, 24 assists, 21 three-pointers, 10 steals and five blocked shots.
Freshman forward Brave Haugh has 41 points, 17 rebounds, nine three-pointers and ten blocked shots while sophomore forward Brian Farrell has 15 points and 18 boards and sophomore forward Cale Maxey has five rebounds and two points.
Leading the guards is junior guard Chad Kratzer, who is tossing in 16.0 points per outing with 93 rebounds, 53 assists, 40 steals and 65 three-pointers. Junior guard Porter Kelly is averaging 12.6 points per game to go along with 54 three-pointers, 84 rebounds, 74 assists and 31 steals while senior guard/forward Michael Leonardo is registering 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game to go with 67 assists, 37 three-pointers, 15 blocked shots and 26 steals.
Graduate student guard Alex Dietz is scoring in 6.5 points per outing with 39 three-pointers, 26 steals, 38 rebounds and 22 assists, and Dietz netted his 1,000th career point at Lycoming College to become the 26th Greyhound to the milestone and second this season joining Ratcliff while sophomore guard Taylor Perlmutter is netting 4.8 points per contest to go with 63 rebounds, 55 assists, 14 steals and nine three-pointers. Sophomore guard George Cutler has added 75 points, 33 assists, 25 rebounds, 12 steals and eight three-pointers while junior guard Colin Farrell has posted 32 points, 23 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.
Sophomore guard/forward Riley Flood has 21 points and 19 boards while freshman guard Dylan Costa has contributed 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Freshman guard John Kelly has 11 points and four boards while sophomore guard Elijah Blackwell has netted five points. Freshman guard John Pirone also has three points while freshman guard Tim Rahill has two points.
