Greyhounds Clinch Landmark Conference Tournament Berth with Victory at Lycoming
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse team clinched its seventh straight appearance in the Landmark Conference Tournament with a 22-9 victory at Lycoming College Friday.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring just over two minutes into the contest as senior midfielder Madi Dippel netted an unassisted goal. Freshman midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger added a pair of goals to push the Hounds' edge to 3-0 after 15 minutes of action
- Hunsinger completed a hat trick a minute and a half into the second quarter before the Warriors scored twice to cut the Moravian lead to 4-2. The Blue & Grey countered with six straight goals to take a 10-2 advantage into the intermission. Hunsinger scored three more times during the run while senior attack Jackie Salvatore, sophomore midfielder Reagan Reiner and freshman midfielder Ella Steirer each tallied one goal
- Sophomore attack Melissa Elefonte began the second half with a goal to make it 11-2 before Lycoming netted three straight goals. Elefonte scored twice and Dippel found the net again to push the edge to 14-5. Each squad netted three goals over the six and a half minutes of the third quarter as Moravian led 17-8 after 45 minutes of play. Sophomore midfielder Bailey Leatherman scored twice for the Greyhounds while Dippel added one more goal
- The Blue & Grey accounted for five of the six goals in the fourth quarter with Steirer scoring twice and single goals from Hunsinger, Elefonte and senior midfielder Alex Cherenson
- Moravian has qualified for the Landmark Conference Tournament each season that has had a tournament since 2018
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian eight players register a point with Hunsinger netting a career-high seven goals to go with six draw controls
- Elefonte posted four goals and three assists while Steirer and Dippel each scored three goals with Dippel adding six draw controls and Steirer scooping up three ground balls
- Salvatore contributed a goal, five assists, two ground balls and two draw controls while Leatherman had two goals and two ground balls
- Cherenson finished with a goal, an assist, two ground balls and a draw control while Reiner had one goal
- Junior goalie Kayla Graef recorded nine saves, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in the victory
- The Hounds held a 42-23 advantage in shots, a 17-4 edge in ground balls and were 16-for-17 on clearing attempts
