Moravian Drops Regular Season Finale at Scranton
SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse squad dropped its final match of the 2025 regular season, falling to The University of Scranton, 17-7, in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Royals ran off the first seven goals of the contest before sophomore attack Melissa Elefonte scored in the final minute of the first quarter for the Hounds to make it 7-1 for Scranton after 15 minutes of play
- Elefonte found the net again just 18 seconds into the second quarter. However, the Royals countered with another seven goals to build a 14-2 edge. Freshman midfielder Ella Steirer beat the clock before the end of the second period to set the score at 14-3 at halftime
- Each squad only scored once in the third quarter with freshman midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger hitting the net for the Hounds
- Moravian outscored Scranton in the fourth with goals by Hunsinger, senior midfielder Madi Dippel and junior attack Victoria Salica
- The Greyhounds enter the postseason as the fourth seed and will host fifth seed Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference First Round match on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had six players scored with Elefonte and Hunsinger both netting two goals
- Dippel, Steirer and Salica each found the net once with Dippel adding nine draw controls
- Senior attack Jackie Salvatore contributed five assists to break her own single season scoring record, now with 112 points this season, and she also had three draw controls and a pair of ground balls
- Senior midfielder Alex Cherenson recorded five ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers while graduate student defender Keara Reilly had three ground balls and three caused turnovers
- Freshman defender Maggie Modrovsky posted two ground balls, two draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers while sophomore midfielder Reagan Reiner had two ground balls
- Junior goalie Kayla Graef registered 11 saves in the match
