Greyhounds Finish Fifth in Lehigh Invitational to Start 2025 Season
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s cross country team opened the 2025 season with a fifth place finish at the Lehigh University Invitational run Friday evening at the Goodman Campus.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds scored 134 points while NCAA Division I Bucknell University was first with 21 points
- Senior Tara Smurla ran a time of 22:12.7 on the 6,000-meter course to lead the Hounds with an eighth place finish out of 87 runners
- Freshman Kate Veivia placed 42nd in a time of 23:58.0 in her collegiate debut while junior Kayla O'Neil took 49th at 24:23.3
- Senior Tori Champagne was 54th in 24:48.9 while freshman Kiley Amend rounded out the Moravian top five with a 55th place finish in a time of 24:56.5
- Junior Alyssa Hockenberry took 57th in 24:59.7 while junior Alexis Hockenberry was 58th at 25:07.8 and junior Kierstyn Klingner finished 61st in a time of 25:18.3
- Rounding out the Hounds' competitors were senior Meghan Myers in 63rd at 25:29.4, freshman Lexi Liddell in 65th in a time of 25:32.8, sophomore Celia Knoedler at 68th in 26:07.2, freshman Kate Vickers in 74th at 26:55.1, sophomore Caroline Emmerich at 80th in 27:55.3 and freshman Lachlyn Timms in 84th in 29:42.7
