Greyhounds Led by Smurla’s Top 25 Finish at Paul Short Run
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s cross country squad finished 31st in the College Women’s White Race at the annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Friday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Blue & Grey had a team score of 842 to place 31st of the 45 NCAA Division III squads in the White Race
- No. 5 New York University took the top spot with 55 points while No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University was the runner-up with 157 points
- Senior Tara Smurla led the Hounds as she finished 23rd of the 403 runners with a season-best time of 21:52.0 on the 6,000-meter course
- Senior Meghan Myers took 153rd at a personal best time of 23:12.0 while freshman Kiley Amend placed 211th in a PR time of 23:38.8
- Rounding out the scoring top five for the Greyhounds were junior Kierstyn Klingner in 267th at a PR time of 24:18.1 and freshman Kate Veivia at 286th in a time of 24:35.7
- Also racing for Moravian were senior Tori Champagne, who was 297th at 24:40.9, junior Alyssa Hockenberry, who took 304th in 24:49.0, freshman Lexi Liddell, who was 329th at a PR time of 25:04.0, junior Alexis Hockenberry, who placed 342nd in 25:16.6, and junior Kayla O'Neil, who finished 365th in a time of 25:52.5
