Moravian Clinches Home Game in Landmark Conference Tournament with Victory over Wilkes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s soccer team clinched a home match in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament after rallying for a 2-1 victory over visiting Wilkes University in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team clinched a home match in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament after rallying for a 2-1 victory over visiting Wilkes University in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon. 

How It Happened

  • The Colonels netted a goal in the 41st minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime
  • The Hounds answered less than five minutes into the second half when sophomore defensive midfielder Evan Hubert touched a crossing pass from sophomore forward Colin Moyer into the net
  • Just over five minutes later, sophomore forward Enzo Petruzzelli blasted in a pass from sophomore midfielder Sean Kirwin to give the Blue & Grey the 2-1 edge
  • The victory gave Moravian 15 points in the conference standings, locking the squad into the third or fourth seeds to give the Greyhounds a home match in the first round of the Landmark Conference Tournament on Saturday, November 1 against an opponent to be determined 

Inside the Numbers

  • Hubert scored his second goal of the year and third of his career while Petruzzelli recorded his fifth goal of the season to tie for the team lead this fall and give him six goals in his career
  • Moyer earned his third assist of 2025 to give him four in his Moravian career while Kirwin notched his first assist of the fall and second of his career
  • Senior goalie Casey Prajzner registered one save in the match, and the win was Prajzner's 14th career victory to move him into a tie for fifth in the Moravian record book
  • The Hounds had a 15-7 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks
