Top 10 Stories of 2024-25 - #7 Moravian Garners 11 Landmark Conference Athlete of the Year Honors

The fourth entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 7 highlight – Moravian’s student-athletes earned 11 Landmark Conference Athlete of the Year awards throughout the year.

Senior Owen Nahf was named Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Performer of the Year after he finished first of the 117 runners in the 2024 Landmark Conference Championships with a winning 8,000-meter time of 25:18.82.

Senior Hailey Scaff was honored as Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Year for the second straight fall. Scaff netted a game-winning goal to go with an assist while anchoring the Moravian defense that recorded 13 shutouts to tie the single-season program record and allowed just 0.55 goals per match.

Junior Casey Prajzner was selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Year. Prajzner posted 49 saves, six shutouts, a 0.65 GAA and a 6-3-3 mark in 1,115 minutes this fall in his first year as a starter for the Greyhounds.

Sophomore Anthony Morillo was both the Men's Indoor Field and Outdoor Field Performer of the Year. Morillo was the Landmark Conference Champion in the shot put indoors to go with a third place in the 35-pound weight throw, and outdoors, he was the runner-up in the shot put and discus while placing third in the hammer throw.

Sophomore Leah Zolotareva was selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Year after registering a 16-5 record while playing first singles, and she had an 8-1 mark in the Landmark Conference regular season. Zolotareva and junior Izzy Szmodis combined for a 17-4 first doubles mark this season including 9-0 in the Landmark regular season.

Senior Jason Koch was honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Golf Player of the Year. He shot a three under par at 141 to lead the 50 golfers by four strokes in the two-day, 36-hole Landmark Conference Championship at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort to capture the individual title and Landmark Conference Player of the Year honors.

Senior Jackie Salvatore was selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year for a second straight spring. Salvatore contributed 44 goals, 76 assists, a school record 120 points, 83 draw controls, 32 ground balls and seven caused turnovers this year. She set the school and Landmark Conference records with 201 career assists as well as setting the Landmark Record with 379 career points

Senior Holly Walter was named the 2025 Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Year. Walter helped the Greyhounds to a 40-9 record, the 2025 Landmark Conference Championship, the program's 12th Landmark title, the 2025 NCAA Division III Bethlehem (Pa.) Regional championship and a berth to host a Super Regional at Blue & Grey Field. Walter hit .341 with 56 hits, 45 runs, eight doubles, four triples, a homer, 23 RBIs, 13 walks and 18 stolen bases to go with a school record 137 assists at shortstop which also led all of NCAA Division III this spring.
Junior Sarah DeStefano was honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Year. She recorded a 1.07 earned run average this season in the circle with a 22-4 record, 10 shutouts, a save, 24 complete games and 142 strikeouts in 177, and DeStefano had a .392 batting average this season with 31 hits, six doubles, two triples and 21 RBIs at the plate. She also had 33 putouts and 49 assists in 82 chances in the field this spring

Junior Margie Rayne was selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Outdoor Field Performer of the Year. Rayne won the discus, shot put and hammer throw at the 2025 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships to score 30 points and help the Greyhounds win the conference title.
