Greyhounds Fall to NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg in Hard-Fought Match to Begin Spring Campaign
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s tennis squad fell to NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, 4-3, in non-conference action in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon as the Hounds began the spring portion of the season.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds captured the doubles point by winning two doubles contests for a 1-0 lead. The tandem of senior Izzy Szmodis and junior Leah Zolotareva earned a 6-4 victory at first doubles while junior Sydney Shifman and sophomore Jenna Gower posted a 6-3 triumph at third doubles to give the Blue & Grey the early edge
- Freshman Natalia Smith pushed the advantage to 2-0 with a 6-2, retired win at second singles before the Warriors got on the scoreboard with a victory at third singles. East Stroudsburg evened the match at 2-2 with a three-set win at first singles, and the Warriors took a 3-2 lead with a victory at fifth singles. The Hounds tied the match at 3-3 when freshman Kaelyn Balko recorded a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at fourth singles; however, East Stroudsburg captured the sixth singles match to win the contest
