Szmodis Earns 50th Career Singles Win as Greyhounds Top Goucher
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s tennis squad won its third straight match, defeating visiting Goucher College, 6-1, in Landmark Conference action at Hoffman Courts Saturday.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds swept the doubles action for a 1-0 advantage. Sophomore Jenna Gower and freshman Kaelyn Balko opened the contest with a 6-0 win at third doubles while senior Izzy Szmodis and junior Leah Zolotareva had a 6-2 triumph at first doubles to clinch the point. Junior Sydney Shifman and freshman Natalia Smith had a 6-2 victory at second doubles
- Zolotareva began singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles before the Gophers earned a point at third singles. Szmodis registered a 6-4, 6-0 victory at third singles to make it 3-1, and the triumph was Szmodis' 50th career singles win as she became the tenth player in program history to reach the milestone. Balko clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at fifth singles while Shifman had a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) three-set victory at fourth singles. Freshman Fraukje van Baars finished the contest with a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles
