Hounds Head to Lycoming to Kickoff 2025 Landmark Conference Slate on October 4

THE COACHES: Jeff Long (Muhlenberg '14) is in his third season as Moravian's head coach with an overall record of 11-14. In his debut campaign, Long led the Greyhounds to a 4-6 overall record and a 3-3 slate in the inaugural Landmark Conference season. Last fall, Long guided the Hounds to a 7-4 mark, a 4-2 Landmark Conference record and the 2024 Cape Charles Bowl Championship with a win over Shenandoah (Va.) University. He has coached 21 Landmark All-Conference selections including seven First Team honorees. Long spent the previous six seasons with the Blue Streaks including the last three years as defensive coordinator. He began his time at John Carroll as the defensive line coach and has also been a secondary coach and linebackers coach. Prior to coaching at John Carroll, Long spent two seasons as a defensive line coach at Wilkes University, and he also worked as a scouting intern for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
Lycoming coach Mike Clark (Lycoming '93) is in his 18th year with the Warriors with 89-79 record.
THE SERIES: Saturday's meeting will be the 23rd in the series with Lycoming leading the series 14-8. Greyhounds posted a 34-23 win in Bethlehem last November for their first win in the series since 2006 while the Warriors earned a 31-20 victory in Williamsport in 2023 in the first contest between the schools as Landmark Conference opponents.

THE QUARTERBACKS: Graduate Jared Jenkins has completed 23-of-34 passes for 238 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions, and Jenkins has run the ball four times for three yards. Sophomore Declan McCarthy is 10-for-28 passing for 84 yards with one interception, and he has five yards on 21 rushing attempts. Sophomore quarterback RJ Hart is 22-for-41 for 172 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions while sophomore wide receiver Ryan Bender is 3-for-5 foe 13 yards. Sophomore punter/kicker Jack Corrigan is 2-for-2 for 38 yards and two first downs on fake punt plays at Muhlenberg College and versus Ursinus College.
IN THE BACKFIELD: Graduate student Joey Richmond leads the Moravian rushing attack with 87 yards on 27 attempts while sophomore Jed Bendekovits has 86 yards on 29 carries. Freshman Dorian Thomas has gained 45 yards on 14 carries while senior Camron Tinajero has three yards on 11 attempts and senior Isiah Rico has added two yards on one carry.
THE OFFENSIVE LINE: Moravian has one returning starter on the offensive line in junior Mason Ludlow. Senior Drew Brizan has seen action and moved into the starting lineup while sophomores Dylan Nolter and Ali Wezza and freshman Marquis Labossiere round out the starting lineup. Junior Hezakyah Hynson and freshmen Dante Downey have seen action this fall.
THE WIDE RECEIVERS: The Greyhounds have had 13 different players catch a pass in 2025 led by junior Avery Koser, who was named the Sean Keville '94 MVP at Muhlenberg in the season opener. Koser has 16 receptions for 221 yards and four touchdowns while sophomore Josh Ludlow has 11 catches for 114 yards. Sophomore Gavyn Gennarelli has seven catches for 30 yards while sophomore Chris Brown has seven catches for 37 yards. Senior Knaheim Bragg has five receptions for 36 yards while senior running back Camron Tinajero has caught four passes for 24 yards. Senior running back Isiah Rico has three catches for 32 yards while graduate student tight end Jalen Jones has caught two passes for eight yards. Sophomore wide receiver Tanner Clancy has one reception for five yards while freshman wide receiver Andrei Matthews has one catch for four yards and sophomore linebacker Malachi McNeil-Harrison has added one reception for 29 yards on a fake punt at Muhlenberg. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond has one reception for four yards while freshman running back Derek Trinidad has added one catch for one yard.
DEFENSIVE FRONT: Senior Nathan Carr leads the defensive lineman with 18 tackles with two and a half stops for loss and a fumble recovery while sophomore Kaelyb Barahona has added 15 tackles including a half a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery. Senior Jashon Teller has made nine tackles Sophomore Hunter Johnson has eight tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass break-up and three quarterback hurries. Senior EJ Harvey has four tackles with one and a half for loss while Sophomore Josh Doane has three stops. Junior Logan Arteaga has made two tackles with one for loss while junior EJ Boney and freshman Kenny Dim both have one tackle.
THE LINEBACKER CORPS: Senior Clay Basile leads the linebackers with 20 tackles while senior Chris Cacace has made 15 tackles with one for loss. Sophomore Malachi McNeil-Harrison also added 14 tackles including two and a half for loss and a sack while freshman Jamie Gutridge has registered 12 stops with three tackles for loss and a sack. Senior Ethan O'Neill has recorded 11 stops while sophomore linebacker Jack Tosh has made nine tackles with one and a half tackles for loss and a sack. Graduate student Declan Coors has six tackles a pass break-up while freshman Dante Harrison has made four tackles. Sophomore Connor Pennington has contributed three tackles while senior Vincent Hoffman has a pair of tackles.
THE DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD: Junior Aidan Lane leads the defensive backs and the Greyhounds' defense with 31 tackles including two and a half tackles for loss. Sophomore Antonio Rivera has made 11 tackles with a pass break-up while senior Isaiah Johnson has contributed nine stops. sSnior Shea Endean also has nine tackles to go with a pass break-up while freshman Kam White has added seven tackles and an interception. Senior Dorian Gray has made seven tackles while senior defensive back Lorenzo Feliciano has contributed seven stops with a half a tackle for loss and two pass break-ups. Junior Antonio Bowen has registered five tackles while freshman Keller Rupp has three stops with a tackle for loss. Junior Anderson Louis Jeune and freshman Knowledge Young both have two tackles while sophomore Sahmad Bailey has recorded one stop.
KICKING GAME: Sophomore Jack Corrigan has punted 27 times this fall for an average of 42.4 yards with a long of 75 yards to tie the school record. Corrigan has one touchback, five fair caught, and six inside the 20-yard line, and he has kicked off ten times for an average of 60.7 yards. Corrigan is 4-for-5 on extra points.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Freshman running back Dorian Thomas has 15 kickoff returns for 328 yards while sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow has four kickoff returns for 125 yards to go with three punt returns for 27 yards. Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Bender has one kickoff return for 11 yards while graduate student linebacker Declan Coors has one return for nine yards. Junior wide receiver Avery Koser has made a pair of special teams tackles while graduate student tight end Jalen Jones has one tackle.
MILESTONE WATCH: The Greyhounds has two student-athlete closing in on milestones for his careers. Graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins is ranked second in program history with 6,459 passing yards, and he needs 186 yards passing to become the school record holder. Jenkins is first all-time in completions with 573, fourth in program history with 875 pass attempts and first in school history with 67 touchdown passes. Sophomore punter Jack Corrigan has tied the school record with a 75-yard punt in the 2025 season opener, and he has four career punts of more than 71 yards.
BALANCED & EXPERIENCED 'HOUNDS: Of the 100 players on the Moravian roster, 32 are freshmen, 30 are sophomores and 13 are juniors. There are 20 seniors and five graduate students on this season's squad, and the Greyhounds return 55 letterwinners and 13 starters from 2025.
SCOUTING LYCOMING COLLEGE: The Warriors enter the game at 0-4 overall after a 34-23 loss to Rowan University last Saturday in the final non-conference game of the year. Sophomore quarterback Joe Lyons III leads the Lycoming offense on the field having completed 50-of-90 passes for 554 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. His top targets have been junior wide receiver Ross Eyer, who has 12 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown, senior wide receiver Karson Kline, who has nine catches for 113 yards, senior tight end Brendan Clark, who has caught nine passes for 95 yards, and senior wide receiver Dawson Debebe, who has five receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Terrence Oliver leads the Warriors' rushing attack with 614 yards and seven touchdowns on 84 carries to go along with nine receptions for 70 yards and another score while junior Spencer Ferguson has 92 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Junior wide receiver Jared Zimmerman has returned 14 kickoffs for 346 yards and one punt for 33 yards to go with seven receptions for 70 yards while sophomore running back Brady Jordan has four kickoff returns for 88 yards. Freshman Vasco Granitto is 11-for-11 on extra-points and 3-for-3 on field goals with a long of 40 yards to go with 21 kickoffs for an average of 52.3 yards while freshman Adrian Alena has punted ten times for an average of 33.0 yards. Sophomore linebacker Daniel Atsou leads the Lycoming defense with 35 tackles including nine for loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick while senior linebacker Jack Trolinger has added 34 tackles with two for loss and a pass break-up. Senior defensive back Ryan Pentz has 32 stops with two for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery while junior defensive back Louie Shank has added 24 tackles and an interception. Sophomore linebackers Braden Baum and JayVon Story both had 20 tackles with Story contributing two and a half tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries while senior defensive lineman Michael Sipps has 19 tackles with four and a half for loss and a blocked kick to go with five punts for an average of 36.0 yards.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET: In Bethlehem last November, Moravian rolled out to a 21-3 first half lead on the way to a 34-23 victory over visiting Lycoming in Landmark Conference action on Senior Day at Rocco Calvo Field. The Greyhounds clinched their first winning season since 2015 and are guaranteed to finish in the top three in the Landmark Conference standings to earn a berth to the 2024 Chesapeake Challenge Bowl Series on Saturday, November 23 in Salem, Virginia versus a team from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Hounds received the opening kickoff and drove 60 yards in 12 plays to get on the scoreboard first as quarterback Jared Jenkins found junior running back Isiah Rico with a nine-yard touchdown pass. Two plays prior to the score, Jenkins ran for ten yards on a fourth-and-7 play to keep the drive alive. Jack Corrigan connected on the extra-point to put the Blue & Grey up 7-0 with 9:20 left in the first quarter. The Warriors punted on their opening possession after picking up one first down while Corrigan connected on a 62-yard punt when Moravian's next drive stalled. The Greyhounds forced Lycoming to punt again after one first down, and the Blue & Grey took over at their own 45-yard line. The Hounds faced a fourth-and-10 at the Lycoming 29-yard line when Jenkins hit wide receiver Jordan Bingham with a 29-yard touchdown pass to finish off the nine-play, 55-yard drive. Corrigan split the uprights again to make it 14-0 with 11:24 to go in the second quarter. The squads traded punts before the Warriors got onto the scoreboard with a 29-yard field goal with 5:46 left before the intermission. Moravian countered with a quick six-play, 67-yard drive as running back Joey Richmond found the end zone on a four-yard touchdown run, and Corrigan followed with the extra-point to make it 21-3 with 2:36 until the break. Lycoming moved into position to try a pass into the end zone on the final play of the half; however, the Hounds' defense knocked the ball away. The Warriors opened the second half with the ball but would punt after gaining one first down. Moravian would also punt on its first possession in the third quarter before Lycoming scored on a 41-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 21-10. The Greyhounds countered right away was Richmond scored on a seven-yard run to cap an eight-play, 65-yard drive. Corrigan's extra-point hit the right upright after a high snap to set the score at 27-10 with 3:18 remaining in the third quarter. The Blue & Grey got the ball right back as defensive back Aidan Lane forced a fumble that defensive back Isaiah Johnson covered. However, the Hounds were unable to convert the turnover into points. The teams each punted on their next drives while Moravian would get the ball back when defensive back Dorian Gray forced a fumble on a sack that defensive lineman Jeremy McGuigan covered. Moravian needed five plays to get into the end zone as Jenkins connected with wide receiver Avery Koser on a three-yard touchdown pass. Corrigan added the extra-point for a 34-10 advantage with 8:58 remaining in the contest. The Warriors answered back with a 26-yard touchdown pass, but Lycoming missed the two-point conversion to set the score at 34-16 with 7:10 to play. The Blue & Grey punted on their next possession, and the Warriors turned a short screen pass into an 80-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 34-23 with 5:01 remaining. Moravian punted one more time before Lycoming turned the ball over on downs. The Hounds would pick up two first downs before running out the clock to end the contest. The Greyhounds offense picked up 420 yards on 81 plays while controlling the clock for 38 minutes. The Blue & Grey had 253 yards in the air and 167 on the ground. Jenkins completed 22-of-32 passes for 224 yards to go with three touchdowns as he tied his own single season record with 26 touchdown passes this fall and extended his career touchdown record to 57. Jenkins also had 19 yards on nine carries while quarterback Carter Hallgren completed 3-of-6 passes for 29 yards. Bingham caught nine passes for 121 yards and a score to become the 12th player in program history to 1,500 career receiving yards, now with 1,521 yards on 134 receptions to go with 17 touchdown catches. Koser pulled in three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown while Richmond had three catches for 19 yards to go with 40 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries. Rico added three attempts for 18 yards and three receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown while wide receiver Diego Del Castillo has two catches for 29 yards. Wide receiver Josh Ludlow added two receptions for 14 yards and three punt returns for 15 yards while wide receiver Nick Coffaro had one catch for 12 yards and both Monge and Weston added one reception for seven yards. Running back Jed Bendekovits led the Moravian rushing attack with 78 yards on ten carries while running back Camron Tinajero added five carries for 14 yards and quarterback Declan McCarthy had five rushing attempts. Running back Jacob Sutton returned two kickoffs for 38 yards. Corrigan punted six times for an average of 40.8 yards with his fourth 60-yard punt of the season, and he also kicked off six times for an average of 44.8 yards. Lane led the Moravian defense with six tackles including one and a half for loss, a forced fumble and a pass break-up while McGuigan added four tackles with two and a half sacks, two and a half for loss, a fumble recovery and a pass break-up. Linebacker Clay Basile, linebacker Chris Cacace and linebacker Declan Coors all had four stops with Cacace adding a half a tackle for loss and a half a sack, Coors registering one tackle for loss and Basile making a half a tackle for loos. Johnson finished with three tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass break-up while Newhard, defensive lineman Hunter Johnson, sophomore linebacker Ethan O'Neill, junior linebacker Jashon Teller and junior defensive lineman EJ Harvey all had three stops. Newhard added a half a sack and a half a tackle for loss while Hunter Johnson had one and a half tackles for loss and Harvey posted one tackle for loss and a pass break-up. Gray finished with two tackles including a sack, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble. The victory assured the program of its first winning season since 2015 when the Greyhounds were 8-3 and played in the inaugural Centennial Conference/Middle Atlantic Conference Bowl Series.
2025 CAPTAINS: The Hounds have named has named graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins, senior defensive lineman Nathan Carr, senior defensive back Isaiah Johnson and junior wide receiver Avery Koser as captains for the 2025 season. Jenkins, who was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team last fall after making the All-Conference First Team in 2023, completed 265-of-387 passes last year for 2,892 yards and 33 touchdowns. In 24 career games, Jenkins is 550-of-841 for 6,221 yards with a school record 64 touchdowns and 24 interceptions, and he has run for 366 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins set school records for completions, attempts, yards and touchdowns in a season in 2024, and he also has the school mark career completions. Carr recorded 33 tackles last season with eight and a half tackles for loss and two and a half sacks. In 25 career games, Carr has posted 61 tackles with 11 tackles for loss, three and a half sacks, one forced fumble, one pass break-up and one blocked kick. Johnson had 31 tackles a year ago with four tackles for loss, a sack, six pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick. Johnson has played in 29 career contests with the Hounds, and he has 107 tackles, 16 passes defended, one interception, five tackles for loss, one sack, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick. Koser caught 39 passes in 2024 for 345 yards and four touchdowns, and he has 41 career receptions for 356 yards and five touchdowns in 20 career games.
OVERTIME 'HOUNDS: Moravian has played a total of 12 overtime games since the NCAA instituted the rule for the 1996 season and is 9-3 all-time in the extra-session including a pair of overtimes wins in 2021. Five of those 12 overtime games have been against Juniata College with the Greyhounds going 4-1 in those games. Moravian's contest in Huntingdon in 2008 marked the first time in the Greyhounds' have needed more than one overtime session in a game. The 2021 season marked the fourth year that Moravian has played at least two overtimes games in one season, the other years were 2008 when the Hounds played two overtime contests, 1999 when the Greyhounds played three overtime games and 1997 when Moravian played two overtime contests.
THE LANDMARK CONFERENCE STATISTICAL RANKINGS: The Greyhounds are seventh in the Landmark Conference in total offense at 187.0 yards per game, and the squad is seventh in rushing yards per game at 50.8 and fifth in passing at 136.3. Defensively, the Hounds are fifth overall at 395.8 yards allowed per game including fifth in rushing defense at 198.8 and fifth in passing at 197.0. Junior wide receiver Avery Koser is third in receiving yards per contest at 55.3, and Koser is also tied for fourth in touchdown scoring at 6.0 points per game. Sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow is third in the conference in kickoff returns with an average of 31.3 yards per return while freshman running back Dorian Thomas is sixth at 21.9 yards per return. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond is tenth in rushing at 21.8 yards per game. Sophomore Jack Corrigan ranks third in the Landmark Conference in punting average at 40.9 yards while junior defensive back Aidan Lane is eighth at 7.8 tackles per game.
