Greyhounds Race Past Juniata for Landmark Conference Win on the Road

How It Happened
- The Hounds received the opening kickoff and marched down the field in just five plays with sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits finding the endzone with a one-yard run. Sophomore Jack Corrigan connected on the extra-point to put the Hounds up 7-0 just 1:56 into the contest
- The Eagles punted after a pair of first downs on their first possession
- Beginning at their own one-yard line, the Greyhounds needed 13 plays to drive the length of the field with sophomore quarterback Declan McCarthy hitting senior running back Isiah Rico with a one-yard touchdown pass on a fourth down play. Corrigan added the PAT for a 14-0 lead with 3:35 to go in the first quarter
- Juniata needed just one play to get on the scoreboard with a 75-yard run cutting the Blue & Grey edge to 14-6 as the Eagles missed the extra point
- Moravian's next drive ended with Corrigan booting a 53-yard punt into the end zone
- The Eagles connected on a 78-yard pass on the second play of their drive before a five-yard touchdown run pulled Juniata within a point at 14-13 just 1:12 into the second quarter
- The Hounds countered with a four-play, 65-yard drive with McCarthy hitting freshman wide receiver Andrei Matthews with a 14-yard touchdown pass. Corrigan drilled the extra-point for a 21-13 lead with 12:20 to go in the first half
- After forcing the Eagles to punt, the Blue & Grey put together a 15-play, 93-yard drive that senior running back Camron Tinajero capped off with a five-yard run. Corrgian's PAT made it 28-13 with 3:39 until the intermission
- Juniata punted after just three plays
- Moravian drove 60 yards in 11 plays before facing a fourth down at the Eagles' nine-yard line. Corrigan came on and made the first field goal of his collegiate career, splitting the uprights from 33 yards to make it 31-13 with just three seconds left in the second quarter
- The Eagles began the second half with the ball and punted after three plays
- The Hounds put the final points of the game on the scoreboard on the next possession as Rico capped an 11-play, 76-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown run. Corrigan's fifth extra-point of the game made it 38-13 with 8;44 to go in the third quarter
- Juniata turned the ball over on downs at the Moravian 25-yard line; however, the Eagles would get the ball back at midfield after four plays when the Juniata defense intercepted McCarthy
- The Eagles had a first and goal from the eight-yard line but ended up turning the ball over on downs
- Moravian drove 78 yards on ten plays into the red zone before Corrigan was wide right on a 34-yard field goal attempt
- Juniata moved the ball down to the Greyhounds' 25-yard line before sophomore defensive back Antonio Rivera intercepted a pass at the one-yard line and returned it 17 yards
- The Hounds ran out the final 2:53 to finish off the game
Inside the Numbers
- The Greyhounds' offense had a season-high 563 yards including 296 yards on the ground and 267 in the air while holding the ball for 41 minutes in the contest
- McCarthy completed 18-of-32 passes for 260 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and he ran for 41 yards on five carries while freshman quarterback Tommy Gontz completed his only pass attempt for seven yards
- Junior wide receiver Avery Koser caught a game-high six passes for 98 yards while Matthews had three receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown and one rushing attempt for 12 yards. Freshman wide receiver Jake Maurer had two catches for 24 yards while sophomore wide receiver Chris Brown had one reception for 39 yards
- Sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow had one catch for 17 yards to go with one kickoff return for 13 yards while senior wide receiver Knaheim Bragg had one reception for 13 yards and sophomore tight end Nick Haurin added one catch for 13 yards
- Bendekovits led the rushing attack with a career-high 110 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, and he also caught one pass for eight yards while freshman running back Dorian Thomas added 87 yards on eight carries. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond contributed 24 yards on five carries while Tinajero recorded 14 yards and a touchdown on five attempts to go with a reception for eight yards
- Rico ran for ten yards and a touchdown on five carries to go with two catches for four yards and a score and a kickoff return for seven yards
- Corrigan was five-for-five on extra-points and one-for-two on field goals with the career long of 33 yards, and he punted once for 53 yards and kickoff seven times for an average of 50.6 yards with a pair of touchbacks
- Junior defensive back Aidan Lane led the Moravian defense with 11 tackles including a sack and a pass break-up while senior linebackers Clay Basile and Ethan O'Neill each made five stops with Basile adding a half a tackle for loss
- Senior defensive lineman Vincent Hoffman posted four tackles while senior linebacker Chris Cacace, senior defensive back Jeff Krippner, senior defensive back Julius Walborn and freshman defensive back Knowledge Young all recording three tackles
- Rivera added two tackles and a pass break-up to go with his interception while senior defensive lineman EJ Harvey registered two tackles for loss with one sack
