Moravian Falls to No. 23 Susquehanna in 2025 Season Finale
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University football team fell to No. 23 Susquehanna University, 48-7, in Landmark Conference action at Rocco Calvo Field Saturday to close out the 2025 season on Senior Day.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds had the opening drive of the contest and picked up a first down before punting the ball away
- The River Hawks gained two first downs on their first possession before the Hounds' defense stuffed a running play on fourth and one to get the ball back; however, Moravian punted after three plays
- Susquehanna got on the scoreboard on the next drive with a ten-yard run to cap a six-play, 83-yard drive to take a 7-0 lead with 3:51 left in the first quarter
- The squads traded punts late in the opening period before sophomore quarterback Delcan McCarthy was intercepted just before the end of the quarter
- The River Hawks doubled the lead to 14-0 at the 10:53 mark of the second quarter with a two-yard touchdown run to finish a ten-play, 65-yard drive
- The Blue & Grey punted once again while Susquehanna went 63 yards in 14 plays to stretch the advantage to 17-0 with a 28-yard field goal with 3:31 until halftime
- Moravian drove right down the field on the next possession with McCarthy finding junior wide receiver Avery Koser with a 17-yard touchdown pass to finish the five-play, 73-yard drive. Sophomore Jack Corrigan made the extra-point to cut the deficit to 17-9 with 1:56 until the intermission
- Susquehanna answered right back with a quick five-play, 55-yard drive to make it 21-7 on a four-yard touchdown run with 42 seconds left in the first half
- After the Greyhounds turned the ball over on downs, the River Hawks added a 40-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to head to the locker room with a 27-7 advantage
- Susquehanna started the second half with the ball and punted after one first down; however, the River Hawks got the ball back in just five plays after intercepting McCarthy. Susquehanna turned the interception into points with a 27-yard touchdown pass to stretch the edge to 34-7 midway through the third quarter
- The River Hawks added one more touchdown in the third quarter on a 28-yard pass, and Susquehanna found the end zone on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter to finish off the scoring
- Prior to the game, Moravian honored graduate student linebacker Declan Coors along with seniors linebacker Clay Basile, offensive lineman Drew Brizan, linebacker Chris Cacace, wide receiver Diego Del Castillo, defensive back Shea Endean, defensive lineman EJ Harvey, defensive back Isaiah Johnson, defensive back Jeff Krippner, tight end Parker Miller, linebacker Ethan O'Neill, running back Isiah Rico, linebacker Josh Ruela, defensive lineman Jashon Teller, running back Camron Tinajero and defensive back Julius Walborn
Inside the Numbers
- The Greyhounds' offense recorded 194 yards including 182 yards in the air
- McCarthy completed 13-of-27 passes for 182 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions
- Koser had three receptions for 29 yards with his score while senior wide receiver Knaheim Bragg pulled in two passes for 71 yards. Sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow had one catch for 32 yards to go with five kickoff returns for 115 yards while sophomore wideout Chris Brown had one reception for 11 yards and Miller added one catch for eight yards
- Rico led the rushing attack with 11 yards on five carries to go with one kickoff return for 38 yards while Tinajero had nine yards on two attempt to go with three receptions for 14 yards. Freshman running back Doran Thomas posted five yards on one carry to go with one catch for 16 yards while sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits added five yards on seven attempts and graduate student running back Joey Richmond had one reception for a yard and three rushing attempts
- Corrigan punted seven times for an average of 40.4 yards and a long of 54 yards as he surpassed 100 career punts, and he also kicked off twice for an average of 57.5 yards
- Junior defensive back Aidan Lane led the Moravian defense with 16 tackles while Basile had nine stops
- Cacace, O'Neill, Harvey and freshman defensive back Knowledge Young all made five tackles with Harvey recording one and a half tackles for loss, Young making one tackle for loss and O'Neill adding a half a sack
- Sophomore defensive lineman Kaelyb Barahona posted four tackles with one for loss and a quarterback hurry while sophomore defensive lineman Jack Tosh had four stops with a half a sack and a quarterback hurry and freshman defensive back Kam White added four tackles with a pass break-up
- Johnson and freshman linebacker Jamie Gutridge both made three stops with Johnson making a tackle for loss while freshman linebacker Dante Harrison contributed a pair of pass break-ups with two tackles
