Moravian Set to Close Out 2025 Season with Senior Day versus No. 23 Susquehanna on November 15

THE COACHES: Jeff Long (Muhlenberg '14) is in his third season as Moravian's head coach with an overall record of 13-17. In his debut campaign, Long led the Greyhounds to a 4-6 overall record and a 3-3 slate in the inaugural Landmark Conference season. Last fall, Long guided the Hounds to a 7-4 mark, a 4-2 Landmark Conference record and the 2024 Cape Charles Bowl Championship with a win over Shenandoah (Va.) University. He has coached 21 Landmark All-Conference selections including seven First Team honorees. Long spent the previous six seasons with the Blue Streaks including the last three years as defensive coordinator. He began his time at John Carroll as the defensive line coach and has also been a secondary coach and linebackers coach. Prior to coaching at John Carroll, Long spent two seasons as a defensive line coach at Wilkes University, and he also worked as a scouting intern for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
Susquehanna coach Tom Perkovich (Canisius '03) is in his 11th year with the River Hawks with a 80-24 record.
THE SERIES: Saturday's meeting will be the 51st in the series with Susquehanna leading the series 27-23-1 after a 49-34 victory in Selinsgrove last fall and a 33-14 win in Bethlehem in 2023. The River Hawks have won five straight games between the schools while the Greyhounds' last win in the series was a 21-18 triumph in Selinsgrove in 2018.
GREYHOUNDS IN THE LANDMARK CONFERENCE: The Greyhounds will compete in the Landmark Conference this fall for the third straight season. The Hounds were selected second in the preseason coaches poll while the River Hawks were picked first.
THE QUARTERBACKS: Sophomore Declan McCarthy is 72-for-148 passing for 917 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions, and he has 121 yards on 44 rushing attempts while sophomore RJ Hart is 30-for-61 for 224 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions. Graduate student Jared Jenkins has completed 23-of-34 passes for 238 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions, and Jenkins has run the ball four times for three yards while freshman Tommy Gontz has completed 11-of-26 passes for 119 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions to go with 20 yards on ten rushes. Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Bender is 3-for-5 for 13 yards while sophomore punter/kicker Jack Corrigan is 2-for-2 for 38 yards and two first downs on fake punt plays at Muhlenberg College and versus Ursinus College, and Corrigan also has 10 yards and a first down on one carry.
IN THE BACKFIELD: Sophomore Jed Bendekovits leads the Moravian rushing attack with 398 yards and two touchdowns on 105 carries while freshman Dorian Thomas has gained 209 yards on 47 carries. Graduate student Joey Richmond has 146 yards on 45 attempts while senior Isiah Rico has added 42 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries and senior Camron Tinajero has 25 yards and two touchdowns on 23 attempts.
THE OFFENSIVE LINE: Moravian has one returning starter on the offensive line in junior Mason Ludlow. Senior Drew Brizan has seen action and moved into the starting lineup while sophomore Dylan Nolter and freshmen Marquis Labossiere and Michael Longo round out the starting lineup. Junior Aris Daley, sophomore Ali Wezza and freshmen Dante Downey and Kyle Borgh have seen action this fall.
THE WIDE RECEIVERS: The Greyhounds have had 18 different players catch a pass in 2025 led by junior Avery Koser, who was named the Sean Keville '94 MVP at Muhlenberg in the season opener. Koser has 32 receptions for 493 yards and four touchdowns while sophomore Josh Ludlow has 23 catches for 231 yards and a score. Sophomore Gavyn Gennarelli has 19 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown while sophomore Chris Brown has 15 catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Knaheim Bragg has ten receptions for 88 yards while senior running back Isiah Rico has nine catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Senior running back Camron Tinajero has caught seven passes for 29 yards and a touchdown while sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits has six receptions for 13 yards. Freshman wide receiver Andrei Matthews has five catches for 102 yards and a touchdown while graduate student tight end Jalen Jones has caught five passes for 27 yards. Freshman wide receiver Jake Maurer has two receptions for 24 yards while freshman running back Dorian Thomas has two catches for 18 yards. Sophomore tight end Nick Haurin has one catch for 13 yards while sophomore wide receiver Tanner Clancy has one reception for five yards and senior tight end Parker Miller has one catch for a yard and a touchdown. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond has one reception for four yards while freshman running back Derek Trinidad has added one catch for one yard.
THE DEFENSIVE FRONT: Senior Nathan Carr leads the defensive lineman with 38 tackles with five and a half stops for loss, one and a half sacks and a fumble recovery while sophomore Kaelyb Barahona has added 32 tackles including one tackle for loss, a half a sack and a fumble recovery. Sophomore Jack Tosh has made 24 tackles with five tackles for loss, two and a half sacks and two pass break-ups while senior Jashon Teller has made 14 tackles and sophomore Hunter Johnson has ten tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one pass break-up, two quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal at Lycoming College. Sophomore Josh Doane has ten stops while senior EJ Harvey has eight tackles with three and a half for loss, two sacks, a pass break-up and a quarterback hurry. Junior Logan Arteaga has six tackles with one for loss and a quarterback hurry while freshman Brayden Lauta has posted four tackles and freshman Mitch Nowroski also has four stops with a tackle for loss and a sack. Freshman Kenny Dim has made two tackles while junior EJ Boney has one stop.
THE LINEBACKER CORPS: Senior Ethan O'Neill leads the linebackers with 41 stops, one tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry while senior Clay Basile has 35 tackles with two for loss and half a sack. Senior Chris Cacace has made 29 tackles with one for loss to go with a blocked punt versus Wilkes University and a quarterback hurry while freshman Jamie Gutridge has registered 18 stops with three tackles for loss and a sack. Graduate student Declan Coors has 15 tackles with one for loss, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery while senior Vincent Hoffman has 12 tackles with a half a tackle for loss. Freshman Dante Harrison has made seven tackles and sophomore Connor Pennington has contributed five tackles with a half a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.
THE DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD: Junior Aidan Lane leads the defensive backs and the Greyhounds' defense with 62 tackles including four and a half tackles for loss, a sack, a fumble recovery, two passes defended and an interception returned 34 yards for a touchdown at The Catholic University of America. Senior Shea Endean has 29 tackles to go with six pass break-ups and a tackle for loss while sophomore Antonio Rivera has made 26 tackles with one and a half tackles for loss, eight passes defended, an interception and a forced fumble. Senior Isaiah Johnson has contributed 22 stops with one and a half tackles for loss and a pass break-up while junior Antonio Bowen has registered 16 tackles to go with two interceptions and a forced fumble. Freshman Kam White has added 16 tackles, an interception and three passes defended while freshman Keller Rupp has 11 stops with a tackle for loss and a pass break-up. Senior defensive back Lorenzo Feliciano has contributed eight stops with a half a tackle for loss, three passes defended, an interception and two quarterback hurries while senior Julius Walborn has made six tackles to go with an interception. Senior Dorian Gray has made seven tackles while freshman Knowledge Young has contributed eight tackles. Junior Anderson Louis Jeune and sophomore Sahmad Bailey both have recorded two stops.
KICKING GAME: Sophomore Jack Corrigan has punted 49 times this fall for an average of 43.5 yards with a long of 75 yards to tie the school record. Corrigan has five touchbacks, 12 fair caught and 12 inside the 20-yard line, and he has kicked off 24 times for an average of 56.7 yards and three touchbacks. Corrigan is 17-for-19 on extra points and 1-for-3 on field goal attempts with a long of 33 yards. Graduate student Kyle Weiss has kicked off five times for an average of 54.0 yards with one touchback as he saw action for his fourth Moravian team in his career having competed for the men's soccer, men's lacrosse and men's indoor track & field teams as an undergraduate.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Freshman running back Dorian Thomas has 21 kickoff returns for 423 yards while sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow has 11 kickoff returns for 257 yards to go with seven punt returns for 47 yards. He also has one tackle and a fumble recovery on special teams. Sophomore defensive back Antonio Bowen has one kickoff return for 16 yards while sophomore wide receiver Ryan Bender has one kickoff return for 11 yards. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond has returned two kickoffs for 25 yards while graduate student linebacker Declan Coors has one return for nine yards and senior running back Isiah Rico has one kickoff return for seven yards. Senior running back Camron Tinajero has recorded five special teams tackles with a forced fumble and fumble recovery while junior wide receiver Avery Koser, graduate student tight end Jalen Jones and senior tight end Parker Miller all have two tackles on special teams.
MILESTONE WATCH: The Greyhounds has two student-athlete closing in on milestones for his careers. Graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins is ranked second in program history with 6,459 passing yards, and he needs 186 yards passing to become the school record holder. Jenkins is first all-time in completions with 573, fourth in program history with 875 pass attempts and first in school history with 67 touchdown passes. Sophomore punter Jack Corrigan has tied the school record with a 75-yard punt in the 2025 season opener, and he has four career punts of more than 71 yards. Corrigan has moved into 12th in program history with 94 career punts, and he is ninth all-time with 4,037 yards.
BALANCED & EXPERIENCED 'HOUNDS: Of the 95 players on the Moravian roster, 30 are freshmen, 28 are sophomores and 12 are juniors. There are 20 seniors and five graduate students on this season's squad, and the Greyhounds return 54 letterwinners and 12 starters from 2025.
SCOUTING SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY: The River Hawks enter the game at 7-2 overall and 5-0 in Landmark Conference action after a 26-3 versus Wilkes University last Saturday to clinch a third straight Landmark Conference title and berth to the NCAA Division III Playoffs. Junior quarterback Josh Ehrlich leads the Susquehanna offense on the field having completed 165-of-224 passes for 1,910 yards with 23 touchdowns and just one interception, and Ehrlich leads the River Hawks with rushing attack with 557 yards and three touchdowns on 103 attempts. Junior Tommy Wright has completed 35-of-53 passes for 598 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Their top targets have been freshman wide receiver Daniel Growney, who has 40 receptions for 450 yards and five touchdowns, senior wideout Hunter Morgenroth, who has 23 catches for 318 yards and four scores, junior wide receiver Robert Stolfa, who has caught 22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns, freshman wide receiver Carter McCauley, who has 16 receptions for 297 yards and five scores, and senior tight end Michael Robbnis, who has 15 catches for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sophomore Rahshan La Mons has gained 527 yards and scored seven touchdowns on 95 rushing attempts to go with 22 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown while senior running back Tommy Grabowski has 208 yards and three scores on 46 attempts. Freshman wide receiver Aaron Angelo has seven kickoff returns for 208 yards with one score while Growney has four kickoff returns for 83 yards and four punt returns for 39 yards. Freshman wide receiver Connor Daly has returned eight punts for 53 yards. Junior kicker Dominic Bourgeois is 47-for-48 on extra-points, and he is 14-for-14 on field goal attempts with a long 42 yards for 89 points. Bourgeois has kicked off 66 times for an average of 59.8 yards with 18 touchbacks, and he has punted 16 times with an average of 35.7 yards, a long of 50 yards, nine fair caught and seven inside the 20-yard line. Junior linebacker Jesse Ruisch leads the Susquehanna defense with 44 tackles including four and a half tackles for loss, a pass break-up and a quarterback hurry while senior linebacker Luke Hughes has contributed 42 stops with five for loss. Junior linebacker Galen Limantour has registered 39 tackles with 14 for loss, a team-high six sacks and six quarterback hurries while senior linebacker Steven Seibert and senior defensive back Berkeley Wagner both had 37 tackles with Seibert adding four and a half tackle for loss, three pass break-ups, a quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery and Wagner posting one and a half tackle for loss, a sack, two interceptions, six passes defended and a forced fumble.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET: In Selinsgrove last fall, The Greyhounds dropped their first Landmark Conference game of the 2024 season, falling to host No. 7 Susquehanna University, 49-34. The River Hawks scored on a 55-yard on the first play of the game for a quick 7-0 lead. The Greyhounds answered back with a 17-play, 79-yard drive that included a pair of fourth down conversions. Quarterback Jared Jenkins found wide receiver Jordan Bingham with a two-yard touchdown pass to cap the drive as Jenkins broke the school record with his 50th career touchdown pass. The Hounds missed the extra-point to make it 7-6 for Susquehanna with 8:28 left in the first quarter. Moravian got the ball back after just three plays as cornerback Shea Endean intercepted a pass and returned it 19 yards to set the Blue & Grey offense up at the Susquehanna 45-yard line. The Hounds took ten plays to cover the 45 yards to the end zone with Jenkins connecting with wide receiver Diego Del Castillo on a 16-yard touchdown pass on a fourth down play. Moravian went for the two-point conversion but missed on the pass to set the score at 12-7 with 3:15 to go in the first quarter. Susquehanna answered with a 42-yard touchdown pass on the second play of the second quarter as the River Hawks moved back in front, 14-12. The Blue & Grey would punt after three plays, but the Greyhounds got the ball back in two plays as linebacker Clay Basile forced a fumble that defensive back Isaiah Johnson recovered at the Susquehanna 40-yard line. Moravian converted the turnover into points again as Jenkins found Bingham with a three-yard touchdown strike to finish off a seven-play, 40-yard drive. Jenkins ran in the two-point conversion to give the Greyhounds a 20-14 lead with 7:41 to go in the second quarter. The River Hawks and Hounds exchanged punts before Susquehanna drove into the red zone late in the first half. Linebacker Chris Cacace finished the chance as he intercepted a pass at the one-yard line and returned it 11 yards. Moravian gained a first down and then ran out the clock to head to the locker room with a 20-14 advantage. The Hounds had the ball to begin the second half and punted after three plays. Susquehanna scored on a four-yard touchdown run after seven plays on a drive extended by a pair of Moravian penalties. The River Hawks' score gave them a 21-20 edge with 10:13 remaining in the third quarter. The Greyhounds were driving and into Susquehanna territory when Jenkins was intercepted. The River Hawks converted the miscue into a nine-yard run to make it 28-20 with 4:47 to go in the third period. Moravian moved the ball passed midfield again before turning the ball over on downs. Susquehanna extended its lead on the third play of the fourth quarter on a five-yard run to push the advantage to 35-20 with 13:47 remaining. The Hounds countered with a nine-play, 63-yard drive capped with Jenkins finding Bingham for the third time in the contest, this time from six yards. Quarterback Carter Hallgren tossed the two-point conversion to Bingham to cut the deficit to 35-28 with 10:28 to go. The River Hawks needed just three play to extend the lead to 42-28 on a five-yard touchdown run. Once again, Moravian countered with a 12-play, 65-yard drive as Jenkins and Bingham connected for the fourth time on a three-yard touchdown pass with 4:29 to go. The Blue & Grey missed on the two-point conversion to set the score at 42-34. Susquehanna pushed the lead right back to two scores with a 69-yard touchdown run to make it 49-34 with 3:30 to play. The Greyhounds moved into River Hawk territory before turning it over on downs. Moravian defense forced a punt, but the Blue & Grey were unable to score on the final drive of the game. The Greyhounds had 442 yards of total offense on 96 plays with 299 yards in the air and 143 yards on the ground, and Moravian controlled the ball for 37:13 of the contest. Jenkins completed 35-of-57 passes, both career highs, for 299 yards, and he tied his career high with five touchdown passes for the third time against one interception. Jenkins now holds the school record with 54 career touchdown passes, and he ran for 40 yards on 14 carries against the River Hawks. Bingham had nine receptions for 83 yards with four touchdowns to tie the single game record for touchdown receptions. Wide receiver Avery Koser grabbed nine passes for 51 yards to go with one yard on a rushing attempt while sophomore running back Isiah Rico had four receptions for 37 yards. Del Castillo added three catches for 38 yards and a score while wide receiver Josh Ludlow had three receptions for 27 yards and one kickoff return for 27 yards. Tight end Nick Haurin and wide receiver Nick Coffaro each pulled in one catch for ten yards. Running back Joey Richmond led the Moravian rushing attack with 48 yards on ten carries, and he added a pair of receptions for 21 yards while running back Camron Tinajero had three carries for 20 yards and two catches for 18 yards. Running back Jed Bendekovits added two rushing attempts for nine yards and one catch for four yards while quarterback Declan McCarthy had 21 yards on four carries and was 0-for-3 on passing attempts. Wide receiver Ryan Frinzi had four yards on one carry. Wide receiver Jacob Sutton returned two kickoffs for 47 yards while freshman defensive back Antonio Rivera had one kickoff return for 13 yards. Jack Corrigan punted three times for an average of 34 yards with a long of 51, and he kicked off six times for an average of 38.7 yards. Defensive lineman Jeremy McGuigan and defensive back Aidan Lane both had six tackles to lead the Moravian defense while defensive lineman Nathan Carr added five stops. Basile had four tackles to go with his forced fumble while defensive lineman EJ Harvey and defensive lineman Hunter Johnson both had four stops. Cacace made three tackles to go with his interception while defensive back Isaiah Johnson had three stops, a fumble recovery and a pass break-up and linebacker Chad Newhard added three tackles.
2025 CAPTAINS: The Hounds named graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins, senior defensive lineman Nathan Carr, senior defensive back Isaiah Johnson and junior wide receiver Avery Koser as captains for the 2025 season.
OVERTIME 'HOUNDS: Moravian has played a total of 13 overtime games since the NCAA instituted the rule for the 1996 season and is 9-4 all-time in the extra-session after falling to The Catholic of University of America, 26-20, in overtime on October 18, 2025 in the Hounds' first overtime contest since 2021. Five of those 12 overtime games have been against Juniata College with the Greyhounds going 4-1 in those games. Moravian's contest in Huntingdon in 2008 marked the first time in the Greyhounds' have needed more than one overtime session in a game. The 2021 season marked the fourth year that Moravian has played at least two overtimes games in one season, the other years were 2008 when the Hounds played two overtime contests, 1999 when the Greyhounds played three overtime games and 1997 when Moravian played two overtime contests.
THE LANDMARK CONFERENCE STATISTICAL RANKINGS: The Greyhounds are sixth in the Landmark Conference in total offense at 278.0 yards per game, and the squad is fifth in rushing yards per game at 105.9 and fifth in passing at 172.1. Defensively, the Hounds are fourth overall at 363.6 yards allowed per game including sixth in rushing defense at 186.3 and first in passing defense at 178.2. The Blue & Grey lead in the conference in punting with an average of 38.8 net yards per punt. Sophomore quarterback Declan McCarthy is sixth in the conference in passing yards per game at 131.0, and he is sixth in passing efficiency with a 108.1 rating. Sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits is sixth in the conference in rushing yards per game at 44.2. Junior wide receiver Avery Koser is third in receiving yards per contest at 54.8 and tied for fourth in receptions per contest at 3.36 Sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow is fourth in the conference in kickoff returns with an average of 23.4 yards per return while freshman running back Dorian Thomas is sixth at 20.1 yards per return. Sophomore Jack Corrigan ranks first in the Landmark Conference in punting average at 43.5 yards while junior defensive back Aidan Lane is ninth at 7.0 tackles per game. Sophomore defensive back Antonio Rivera is tied for second in passes defended at 1.00 per game and senior defensive back Shea Endean is tied for tenth at 0.67 passes defended per outing.
NCAA STATISTICAL RANKINGS: Sophomore punter Jack Corrigan is fourth in the nation in punting average at 43.5 yards per punt.
