Greyhounds Fall at Muhlenberg to Begin 2025 Season
ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University football squad fell to rival Muhlenberg College, 38-19, under the lights at Frank Marino Field at Scotty Wood Stadium Friday evening as part of the Sodexo Crosstown Clash as the Hounds began the 2025 season.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds received the opening kickoff. Graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins was intercepted on the second play of the game and the Mules returned the ball for a 26-yard touchdown for a 7-0 lead just 37 seconds into the game
- Moravian ran just three plays on the next drive before sophomore Jack Corrigan came into punt
- The Mules first offensive possession would get one first down before Muhlenberg punted
- The Blue & Grey drove into Muhlenberg territory before Jenkins was intercepted again
- Muhlenberg punted back the Greyhounds. However, the Mules got the ball back with their third interception of the contest. Muhlenberg hit a 28-yard field goal to extend the lead to 10-0 with 4:04 left in the first quarter
- Sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow set the Moravian offense up with a 56-yard kickoff return. Jenkins finished of the five-play, 30-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown pass to senior running back Camron Tinajero. Corrigan made the extra-point to pull the Hounds within 10-7 with 1:05 to play in the opening quarter
- After both teams punted early in the second quarter, the Mules stretched the lead with a 10-yard touchdown pass to make it 17-7 with 10:38 on the clock in the second period
- Moravian answered right back with a seven-play, 65-yard drive with Jenkins finding junior wide receiver Avery Koser with a 31-yard touchdown pass on fourth down. Corrigan's PAT was wide right to cut the deficit to 17-13 with 7:39 left in the first half
- The Mules punted on the next drive as the Hounds took over that their own 29-yard line with 6:07 until the intermission. The Greyhounds moved down into Muhlenberg territory before turning the ball over on downs
- Both squads punted one more time in the half with Corrigan tying the Moravian school record with a 75-yard punt with less than ten seconds in the second quarter. Corrigan's punt tied the 75-yard punt by Sam Bingaman at Franklin & Marshall College in 2022
- Muhlenberg received the opening kickoff of the second half and took the ball 50 yards on five plays to extend its lead to 24-13 just 1:34 into the third quarter
- The Greyhounds answered on their first possession the second half. Facing a fourth down early in the drive, Corrigan threw a 30-yard pass to sophomore linebacker Malachi McNeil-Harrison to keep the drive alive. Jenkins hit Koser with a three-yard touchdown pass to cap off a 13-play, 75-yard drive. The Hounds went for the two-point conversion, but Jenkins' pass was intercepted in the end zone to keep the score at 24-19 with 8:05 on the clock
- The Mules countered again with a one-yard touchdown run to make it 31-19 with 3:27 to play in the third quarter
- The Blue & Grey moved into the redzone and had four plays from inside the five-yard line before turning the ball over on downs
- Muhlenberg turned the defensive stop into a 12-play, 97-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run to make it 38-19 with 6:07 remaining
- Moravian punted on its next possession while the Mules turned the ball over on downs. The Greyhounds ran two plays to run out the clock
- Koser was selected by the media in attendance as the Hounds' Sean Keville '94 Most Valuable Player of the Game after catching five passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns
Inside the Numbers
- The Greyhounds' offense gained 354 yards on 71 plays and controlled the clock for 31:36 of the contest
- Jenkins completed 23 of 34 passes for 238 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions, and he also ran for three yards on four carries
- Ludlow caught six passes for 69 yards to go with his 61-yard kickoff return. Sophomore wide receiver Gavyn Gennarelli added four receptions for 17 yards while senior running back Isiah Rico had three catches for 32 yards and one rushing attempt for two yards
- Senior wide receiver Knaheim Bragg pulled in two catches for 14 yards while Tinajero added two receptions for 11 yards and a touchdown to go with eight yards on six carries
- Sophomore wide receiver Chris Brown had one catch for six yards while McNeil-Harrison had one reception for 29 yards to go with six tackles including one for loss
- Sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits led the rushing attack with 30 yards on 12 carries while graduate student running back Joey Richmond had 24 yards on eight attempts
- Freshman running back Doran Thomas picked up 11 yards on two carries to go with two kickoff returns for 43 yards
- Sophomore quarterback Declan McCarthy had nine yards on two carries to go with one pass attempt
- Corrigan averaged 63.0 yards on four kickoffs and 50.0 yards on four punts including his school record tying boot of 75 yards. Corrigan completed his first career passing attempt for 29 yards
- Junior defensive back Aidan Lane joined McNeil-Harrison with six tackles to lead the Hounds' defense, and he also had one tackle for loss while senior linebacker Ethan O'Neill had five tackles
- Sophomore defensive back Antonio Rivera, senior defensive back Lorenzo Feliciano and senior defensive lineman Jashon Teller each made four stops with Feliciano breaking up a pass
- Senior linebacker Chris Cacace, senior defensive back Dorian Gray, senior defensive lineman Nathan Carr, senior linebacker Clay Basile and sophomore defensive lineman Kaelyb Barahona all made three tackles with Carr and senior defensive lineman EJ Harvey each adding a tackle for loss
