Hounds Return from Bye Week with Road Trip to Juniata on November 8

THE COACHES: Jeff Long (Muhlenberg '14) is in his third season as Moravian's head coach with an overall record of 12-17. In his debut campaign, Long led the Greyhounds to a 4-6 overall record and a 3-3 slate in the inaugural Landmark Conference season. Last fall, Long guided the Hounds to a 7-4 mark, a 4-2 Landmark Conference record and the 2024 Cape Charles Bowl Championship with a win over Shenandoah (Va.) University. He has coached 21 Landmark All-Conference selections including seven First Team honorees. Long spent the previous six seasons with the Blue Streaks including the last three years as defensive coordinator. He began his time at John Carroll as the defensive line coach and has also been a secondary coach and linebackers coach. Prior to coaching at John Carroll, Long spent two seasons as a defensive line coach at Wilkes University, and he also worked as a scouting intern for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
Juniata coach Blake Treadwell (Michigan State '14) is in his third year as head coach with a record of 5-23.
THE SERIES: Saturday's meeting will be the 70th in the series with Moravian holding a 38-29-2 lead. The Greyhounds recorded a 35-13 win in Bethlehem last fall after earning a 44-13 victory in Huntingdon in 2023. The Eagles last win the series was a 24-17 victory in Huntingdon in 2021. The series has had a history of close games with a streak of five straight years in which the game ended in a regulation tie from 1995 until 1999. Four of those games went to overtime with three won by Moravian.
GREYHOUNDS IN THE LANDMARK CONFERENCE: The Greyhounds will compete in the Landmark Conference this fall for the third straight season. The Hounds were selected second in the preseason coaches poll while the Eagles were picked seventh.
THE QUARTERBACKS: Sophomore Declan McCarthy is 54-for-116 passing for 657 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions, and he has 80 yards on 39 rushing attempts while sophomore RJ Hart is 30-for-61 for 224 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions. Graduate student Jared Jenkins has completed 23-of-34 passes for 238 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions, and Jenkins has run the ball four times for three yards while freshman Tommy Gontz has completed 10-of-25 passes for 112 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions to go with 21 yards on nine rushes. Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Bender is 3-for-5 for 13 yards while sophomore punter/kicker Jack Corrigan is 2-for-2 for 38 yards and two first downs on fake punt plays at Muhlenberg College and versus Ursinus College, and Corrigan also has 10 yards and a first down on one carry.
IN THE BACKFIELD: Sophomore Jed Bendekovits leads the Moravian rushing attack with 288 yards and a touchdown on 84 carries while graduate student Joey Richmond has 122 yards on 40 attempts. Freshman Dorian Thomas has gained 122 yards on 39 carries while senior Isiah Rico has added 32 yards on 11 carries and senior Camron Tinajero has 22 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts.
THE OFFENSIVE LINE: Moravian has one returning starter on the offensive line in junior Mason Ludlow. Senior Drew Brizan has seen action and moved into the starting lineup while sophomore Dylan Nolter and freshmen Marquis Labossiere and Michael Longo (round out the starting lineup. Junior Aris Daley, sophomore Ali Wezza and freshmen Dante Downey and Kyle Borgh have seen action this fall.
THE WIDE RECEIVERS: The Greyhounds have had 16 different players catch a pass in 2025 led by junior Avery Koser, who was named the Sean Keville '94 MVP at Muhlenberg in the season opener. Koser has 26 receptions for 385 yards and four touchdowns while sophomore Josh Ludlow has 22 catches for 214 yards and a score. Sophomore Gavyn Gennarelli has 19 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown while sophomore Chris Brown has 14 catches for 142 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Knaheim Bragg has nine receptions for 74 yards while senior running back Isiah Rico has seven catches for 75 yards. Senior running back Camron Tinajero has caught six passes for 21 yards while graduate student tight end Jalen Jones has caught five passes for 27 yards. Sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits has five receptions for 23 yards while freshman running back Dorian Thomas has two catches for 18 yards and freshman wide receiver Andrei Matthews has two catches for 60 yards. Sophomore wide receiver Tanner Clancy has one reception for five yards while sophomore linebacker Malachi McNeil-Harrison has added one reception for 29 yards on a fake punt at Muhlenberg and senior tight end Parker Miller has one catch for a yard and a touchdown. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond has one reception for four yards while freshman running back Derek Trinidad has added one catch for one yard and.
THE DEFENSIVE FRONT: Senior Nathan Carr leads the defensive lineman with 38 tackles with five and a half stops for loss, one and a half sacks and a fumble recovery while sophomore Kaelyb Barahona has added 31 tackles including one tackle for loss, a half a sack and a fumble recovery. Sophomore Jack Tosh has made 24 tackles with five tackles for loss, two and a half sacks and two pass break-ups while senior Jashon Teller has made 14 tackles and sophomore Hunter Johnson has ten tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one pass break-up, two quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal at Lycoming College. Sophomore Josh Doane has eight stops while senior EJ Harvey has seven tackles with two and a half for loss, a sack, a pass break-up and a quarterback hurry. Junior Logan Arteaga has five tackles with one for loss and a quarterback hurry while freshman Brayden Lauta has posted four tackles and freshman Mitch Nowroski also has four stops with a tackle for loss and a sack. Freshman Kenny Dim has made two tackles while junior EJ Boney has one stop.
THE LINEBACKER CORPS: Senior Ethan O'Neill leads the linebackers with 36 stops and a quarterback hurry while senior Clay Basile has 30 tackles with one and a half for loss and half a sack. Senior Chris Cacace has made 26 tackles with one for loss to go with a blocked punt versus Wilkes University and a quarterback hurry while sophomore Malachi McNeil-Harrison has added 26 tackles including two and a half for loss, a sack, a pass break-up and five quarterback hurries. Freshman Jamie Gutridge has registered 18 stops with three tackles for loss and a sack while graduate student Declan Coors has 14 tackles with one for loss, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery. Senior Vincent Hoffman has eight tackles with a half a tackle for loss while freshman Dante Harrison has made seven tackles and sophomore Connor Pennington has contributed three tackles with a half a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.
THE DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD: Junior Aidan Lane leads the defensive backs and the Greyhounds' defense with 56 tackles including three and a half tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and an interception returned 34 yards for a touchdown at The Catholic University of America. Senior Shea Endean has 28 tackles to go with five pass break-ups and a tackle for loss while sophomore Antonio Rivera has made 24 tackles with one and a half tackles for loss, six pass break-ups and a forced fumble. Senior Isaiah Johnson has contributed 20 stops with one and a half tackles for loss and a pass break-up while junior Antonio Bowen has registered 16 tackles to go with two interceptions and a forced fumble. Freshman Kam White has added 16 tackles, an interception and three passes defended while freshman Keller Rupp has nine stops with a tackle for loss and a pass break-up. Senior defensive back Lorenzo Feliciano has contributed eight stops with a half a tackle for loss, two pass break-ups and a quarterback hurry while senior Dorian Gray has made seven tackles. Freshman Knowledge Young has contributed six tackles while senior Julius Walborn has made six tackles to go with an interception. Junior Anderson Louis Jeune and sophomore Sahmad Bailey both have recorded two stops.
KICKING GAME: Sophomore Jack Corrigan has punted 48 times this fall for an average of 43.3 yards with a long of 75 yards to tie the school record. Corrigan has four touchbacks, 12 fair caught and 12 inside the 20-yard line, and he has kicked off 17 times for an average of 57.6 yards and one touchback. Corrigan is 12-for-14 on extra points and has missed his only field goal attempt. Graduate student Kyle Weiss has kicked off five times for an average of 54.0 yards with one touchback as he saw action for his fourth Moravian team in his career having competed for the men's soccer, men's lacrosse and men's indoor track & field teams as an undergraduate.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Freshman running back Dorian Thomas has 21 kickoff returns for 423 yards while sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow has ten kickoff returns for 244 yards to go with seven punt returns for 47 yards. He also has one tackle and a fumble recovery on special teams. Sophomore defensive back Antonio Bowen has one kickoff return for 16 yards while sophomore wide receiver Ryan Bender has one kickoff return for 11 yards. Graduate student running back Joey Richmond has returned two kickoffs for 25 yards while graduate student linebacker Declan Coors has one return for nine yards. Senior running back Camron Tinajero has recorded five special teams tackles with a forced fumble and fumble recovery while junior wide receiver Avery Koser, graduate student tight end Jalen Jones and senior tight end Parker Miller all have two tackles on special teams.
MILESTONE WATCH: The Greyhounds has two student-athlete closing in on milestones for his careers. Graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins is ranked second in program history with 6,459 passing yards, and he needs 186 yards passing to become the school record holder. Jenkins is first all-time in completions with 573, fourth in program history with 875 pass attempts and first in school history with 67 touchdown passes. Sophomore punter Jack Corrigan has tied the school record with a 75-yard punt in the 2025 season opener, and he has four career punts of more than 71 yards. Corrigan has moved into 12th in program history with 93 career punts, and he is ninth all-time with 3,984 yards.
BALANCED & EXPERIENCED 'HOUNDS: Of the 97 players on the Moravian roster, 30 are freshmen, 30 are sophomores and 12 are juniors. There are 20 seniors and five graduate students on this season's squad, and the Greyhounds return 55 letterwinners and 13 starters from 2025.
SCOUTING JUNIATA COLLEGE: The Eagles enter the game at 2-6 overall and 0-4 in Landmark Conference action after a 38-7 loss at Wilkes University last Saturday. Junior quarterback Ethan Eisenberg leads the Juniata offense on the field having completed 77-of-148 passes for 654 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions, and he had added 53 yards and a touchdown on 39 rushing attempts. Eisenberg's top targets have been sophomore wide receiver Carter Marr, who has 18 catches for 185 yards, freshman wide receiver Brysen Delaney, who has 16 receptions for 158 yards, sophomore wideout JJ Asante-Ansong, who has caught 14 passes for 124 yards and a score, and sophomore tight end Jordan Horn, who has 13 catches for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Junior running back Ivan Foreman leads the Eagles' rushing attack with 709 yards and eight touchdowns on 141 carries while senior running back Joey Menke has added 170 yards and a touchdown on 45 attempts and sophomore running back Alex Eaton has 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 47 carries. Menke has returned six kickoffs for 132 yards. Senior Wyatt Buell has punted 43 times for an average of 39.3 yards with five fair caught, 11 inside the 20-yard line and a long of 62 yards while senior Alex Mullin is 6-for-8 on extra-points and 1-for-3 on field goals with a long of 16 yards. Freshman Brandon Feinblatt is 3-for-5 on extra-points. Junior linebacker Dillon Wakefield leads the Juniata defense with 77 tackles including two and a half tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a pass break-up while senior defensive back Ethan Shank has 65 stops with a half a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and four pass break-ups. Senior linebacker Aaron Rothermel has recorded 40 tackles with one for loss, a fumble recovery and a pass break-up while freshman defensive back Stephen Griffin and sophomore defensive back Caleb Hicks have both registered 32 tackles with Griffin adding a pair of pass break-ups and Hicks posting a tackle for loss and an interception. Junior defensive back Tucker Lowery leads the Eagles with three interceptions.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET: In Bethlehem last fall, the Greyhounds scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to turn a one-point halftime lead into a 35-13 Landmark Conference victory over Juniata at Rocco Calvo Field. The Greyhounds received the opening kickoff and needed just 16 seconds to take the lead as running back Joey Richmond took a handoff up the middle, broke several tackles and cut back into the open field as he raced 65 yards for a touchdown. Jack Corrigan split the uprights for the first of five extra-points on the day to make it 7-0 for the Blue & Grey with 14:44 on the clock. The next four possessions ended with punts including the Eagles pinning Moravian at its own one-yard line and Corrigan returning the favor with a 62-yard punt. Juniata put together a 16-play, 99-yard drive spanning the late first and early second quarters to knot the score at 7-7 on a two-yard touchdown run. The Blue & Grey answered with a 10-play, 67-yard drive that saw quarterback Jared Jenkins find wide receiver Jordan Bingham with a 19-yard touchdown pass to put the Hounds back in front, 14-7, with 6:41 left in the first half. The next three drives ended with punts before Moravian looked to score late in the quarter. However, Jenkins was intercepted, and the Eagles converted the turnover into a touchdown on the final play of the half with a 35-yard pass. A penalty after the score pushed Juniata's extra-point attempt to a 35-yard kick that sailed wide right and sent the teams to the locker room with Hounds winning 14-13. The Eagles had the ball to begin the second half but punted after three plays. Moravian defensive lineman Hunter Johnson blocked the punt to give the Blue & Grey the ball in the red zone. The Greyhounds needed three plays to extend the lead when Jenkins connected with wide receiver Josh Ludlow on a four-yard touchdown pass to make it 21-13 with 12:11 left in the third quarter. After forcing the Eagles to punt, Moravian was driving again when Jenkins was intercepted again. However, the Hounds' defense forced Juniata to punt again. Jenkins drove into the red zone to start the fourth quarter before turning the ball over on downs. Moravian's defense stepped again to force the Eagles turn the ball over on downs as well. The Blue & Grey found the end zone on the next possession as Jenkins tossed a short pass to wide receiver Diego Del Castillo, who broke a tackle and raced 55 yards to the end zone to make it 28-13 with 7:57 to play. Corrigan hit a high and short kickoff into the wind that hit the turf and was recovered by graduate student linebacker Declan Coors for the Greyhounds. Moravian needed three plays to find the end zone again as Jenkins tossed a 27-yard scoring pass to Bingham with 6:23 remaining to finish the scoring. The Greyhounds 480 yards of offense on 68 plays while controlling the ball for just over 32 minutes. Jenkins connected on 20-of-27 passes for 257 yards with four touchdowns and a pair of interceptions, and he ran for 43 yards on six carries. Jenkins became the sixth player in school history to surpass 5,000 yards passing in a career. Bingham caught eight passes for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Del Castillo had three receptions for 71 yards and a score. Ludlow added three catches for 20 yards and a score while wide receiver Will Castel had one reception for 35 yards and Bryan Monge added one catch for nine yards. Richmond had his first career 100-yard game with 133 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries to go with a catch for 11 yards while running back Isiah Rico added 26 yards on five rushing attempts and four yards on one reception. Running back Jed Bendekovits had 13 yards on four carries to go with one reception for four yards while running back Camron Tinajero had three rushes for four yards and one catch for a yard. Running back Cole Maholtz added five yards on three carries. In addition to his five extra points, Corrigan punted three times for an average of 48.0 yards with a long of 62 yards, his fifth punt of longer than 60 yards this season. Corrigan kicked off five times for an average of 58.0 yards and one touchback. Linebacker Ethan O'Neill led the Moravian defense with ten tackles including three for loss and a sack while defensive back Aidan Lane had nine stops. Defensive lineman Nathan Carr recorded seven tackles with one for loss and a sack while Johnson had four tackles to go with his blocked punt. Defensive lineman Ian Brunner had four tackles with one for loss while defensive back Cleveland Harding, linebacker Chad Newhard and linebacker Malachi McNeil-Harrison all had four tackles with Newhard and McNeil-Harrison both adding a pass break-up. Defensive back Isaiah Johnson added three stops with one for loss.
2025 CAPTAINS: The Hounds named graduate student quarterback Jared Jenkins, senior defensive lineman Nathan Carr, senior defensive back Isaiah Johnson and junior wide receiver Avery Koser as captains for the 2025 season.
OVERTIME 'HOUNDS: Moravian has played a total of 13 overtime games since the NCAA instituted the rule for the 1996 season and is 9-4 all-time in the extra-session after falling to The Catholic of University of America, 26-20, in overtime on October 18, 2025 in the Hounds' first overtime contest since 2021. Five of those 12 overtime games have been against Juniata College with the Greyhounds going 4-1 in those games. Moravian's contest in Huntingdon in 2008 marked the first time in the Greyhounds' have needed more than one overtime session in a game. The 2021 season marked the fourth year that Moravian has played at least two overtimes games in one season, the other years were 2008 when the Hounds played two overtime contests, 1999 when the Greyhounds played three overtime games and 1997 when Moravian played two overtime contests.
THE LANDMARK CONFERENCE STATISTICAL RANKINGS: The Greyhounds are seventh in the Landmark Conference in total offense at 242.4 yards per game, and the squad is seventh in rushing yards per game at 82.1 and sixth in passing at 160.3. Defensively, the Hounds are third overall at 370.1 yards allowed per game including sixth in rushing defense at 187.1 and first in passing defense at 183.0. The Blue & Grey are tied for the lead in the conference in fumble recoveries with seven fumble recoveries in eight games. Sophomore quarterback Declan McCarthy is sixth in the conference in passing yards per game at 109.5, and he is sixth in passing efficiency with a 99.7 rating. Sophomore running back Jed Bendekovits is tenth in the conference in rushing yards per game at 36.0. Junior wide receiver Avery Koser is fifth in receiving yards per contest at 49.4 and fifth in receptions per contest at 3.3. Sophomore wide receiver Josh Ludlow is third in the conference in kickoff returns with an average of 24.4 yards per return while freshman running back Dorian Thomas is sixth at 20.1 yards per return. Sophomore Jack Corrigan ranks first in the Landmark Conference in punting average at 43.3 yards while junior defensive back Aidan Lane is ninth at 7.1 tackles per game. Sophomore defensive back Antonio Rivera is tied for fifth in passes defended at 0.86 per game and senior defensive back Shea Endean is tenth at 0.63 break-ups per outing.
NCAA STATISTICAL RANKINGS: Sophomore punter Jack Corrigan is sixth in the nation in punting average at 43.3 yards per punt.
