Allen Petros ’12 - New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Allen W. Petros Jr., DMD ’12, an All-American football standout, is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Allen W. Petros Jr., DMD '12, an All-American football standout, is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Petros, a 2012 Moravian graduate, was an All-American defensive lineman on the gridiron for the Hounds. He was selected to the 2011 D3football.com All-America Third Team to round out his career. Petros was named to the D3football.com All-South Region First Team after his senior season in 2011 as well, and he was also selected to the ECAC Division III South All-Star First Team the same year. Petros was a three-time Centennial All-Conference selection, making the First Team in 2010 and 2011 and the Second Team in 2009.
Petros finished his career with a school record 63.5 tackles for loss, and he is second in program history with 28 sacks. He totaled 191 tackles in his four seasons to go with four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Petros is being joined by softball All-American Jennifer E. Dalickas '15; All-American men's cross country and track runner Dillon M. Farrell '15; All-American long jumper and triple jumper Micah E. Leonard '13 S '18; All-American baseball shortstop David Zubia '12 and former head men's basketball and men's tennis coach Jim Walker in the class of 2025 being inducted Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2010 baseball squad will also be honored on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall as part of Moravian's Family Day Weekend.
