Coffaro & Kelly Selected as Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive & Defensive Athletes of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior attack Nick Coffaro and junior goalie Liam Kelly have been selected as the Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week for her performance last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior attack Nick Coffaro and junior goalie Liam Kelly have been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week for her performance last week.
The duo helped Moravian to a 2-0 mark in non-conference action last week.
Coffaro led the Greyhounds with 15 points on five goals and ten assists. He had a goal and three assists in the Hounds' 11-3 win versus McDaniel College before recording a career-high 11 points on four goals and seven assists in a 17-2 victory over The University of Mount Saint Vincent.
"Nick is a dynamic attack man who's moved into a more prominent role in our offense," noted Head Coach Dave Carty. "He attacks the net tenaciously."
Kelly earned a pair of non-conference wins in goal for the Hounds last week and he registered 13 saves, four ground balls and had a 2.36 goals-against average in 102 minutes of action. Kelly posted seven saves and four ground balls in 58 minutes of action versus McDaniel, and he had one save in 44 minutes of action against Mount Saint Vincent.
"Liam is a great leader for us and reliable in the net," stated Carty. "He works hard every day leading the defense."
Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 7 in a non-conference match at La Roche University beginning at 4:00 p.m.
