TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University men’s lacrosse team has had five student-athletes named to the 2026 Landmark Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference teams with junior attack Nick Coffaro being selected to the Second Team and senior defender James Panico, senior short stick defensive midfielder RJ Toogood, junior goalie Liam Kelly and junior long stick midfielder Andrew Cassese named to the Honorable Mention squad.
The Greyhounds made the program’s fourth Landmark Conference Tournament appearance and hosted a home playoff match for the first time in program history, falling to fifth seed Susquehanna University, 13-12, last Saturday in the First Round. Head Coach Dave Carty led the Blue & Grey to a 10-7 mark this spring in his 11th season at Moravian with a 5-4 record in Landmark Conference action.
Coffaro led the Greyhounds with 81 points this season on 34 goals and 47 assists to go along with 29 ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. In his career, Coffaro has 72 goals and 82 assists for 154 points, which is sixth in program history, to go with 72 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in 47 matches.
“Nick was the engine to our offense,” stated Carty. “He’s hard working and has developed his game extensively. Without Nick, we would have a hard time scoring.”
Panico registered 28 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers this spring while helping Moravian allow just 9.59 goals per match. Panico had 77 ground balls and 33 caused in 47 career contests.
“James isn’t a flashy defender, he covers the best offensive player on the other team, and his job is to shut him down,” Carty said. “We won important games because of how good he is 1 v 1.”
Toogood contributed a goal, 38 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers this season. Toogood completes his career having registered four goals, 54 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers in 50 matches.
“This year was a breakout year for RJ; he stepped up and filled a role we needed him to fill,” noted Carty. “He worked extremely hard to improve his game this year and I’m happy he’s being recognized.”
Kelly made 161 saves to go along with a 10-7 record, a 10.26 goals-against average, 47 ground balls and ten caused turnovers in 866 minutes of action. In three seasons, Kelly has 407 saves, a 10.73 goals-against average, 102 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers in 2,175 minutes of action.
“Liam is a great player for us and our first All-Conference Goalie,” exclaimed Carty. “He leads the defense and comes up with some incredible saves.”
Cassese, who made the Honorable Mention squad for the third straight year, recorded 42 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers in 2026. In three seasons, Cassese has 111 ground balls and 36 caused turnovers in 50 matches.
“Andrew is a great LSM in between the lines,” said Carty. “He’s a ground ball machine and a great wing player.”
