Second Quarter Run Leads Hounds to Victory over Wilkes on Senior Day

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the match as senior attack Ryan Kokoszka found the net off a pass from junior attack Nick Coffaro. Junior midfielder Hunter Klapmuts made it 2-0 just a minute later while the Colonels scored three times in four minutes late in the period. Klapmuts scored again with ten seconds on the clock to knot the match at 3-3 after 15 minutes of play
- Moravian scored the only six goals of the second quarter to take a 9-3 lead into the intermission. Junior midfielder Adam Twist gave the Blue & Grey the lead for good a minute into the period while sophomore midfielder Robert Celona and freshman attack Jack Minetti both had goals. Twist scored again with a man-advantage while Kokoszka added two more tallies
- The Greyhounds put ten goals into the net in the third quarter to lead 19-7 after 45 minutes of action. Twist had another man-up goal before Kokoszka scored to give him 100 career points, the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone. Minetti would score four times in the period while Coffaro, Celona, Klapmuts and Kokoszka all had goals in the final 11 minutes of the quarter
- The Blue & Grey scored twice in the fourth quarter with goals from Kokoszka and a man-up tally from junior attack Kyle Gann
- Prior to the match, Moravian honored seniors attack Vincent Devito, attack Ryan Kokoszka, short stick defensive midfielder Nick Mancini, defender James Panico, defender Mike Sickler and short stick defensive midfielder RJ Toogood
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had nine student-athletes record points in the contest with Kokoszka netting a career-high six goals to go with an assist
- Minetti had five goals, two assists and three ground balls while Klapmuts added three goals and two assists
- Twist contributed three goals, an assist and two ground balls while Celona netted a pair of goals with two ground balls
- Coffaro posted a goal and seven assists while Gann had a goal and an assist
- Sophomore face-off specialist Owen Deady had one assist and two caused turnovers to go with 18 ground balls and a 24-for-28 face-off day, both ranking second in a single match in program history
- Sophomore long stick midfielder Jace Schmalz added an assist while junior long stick midfielder Andrew Cassese had three ground balls
- Sicker recorded two ground balls and two caused turnovers while Panico and freshman midfielder Carter Grant both had two ground balls
- Junior goalie Liam Kelly registered 13 saves in 56 minutes of action while freshman goalie Rory Jenkins did not face a shot in four minutes in goal
- The Hounds held a 66-31 advantage in shots and a 48-27 edge in ground balls while going 26-for-33 on face-offs, 17-for-19 on clearing attempts and 3-for-4 with an extra-man
