Greyhounds Rally Before Falling in Final Minutes to Susquehanna in Landmark Conference Tournament First Round
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The fourth seeded Moravian University men’s lacrosse team rallied from a five-goal halftime deficit to take a fourth quarter lead before falling to fifth seed Susquehanna University, 13-12, on a goal with 1:31 remaining in the Landmark Conference Tournament First Round on a rainy John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The River Hawks took a quick 2-0 lead on a pair of goals 40 seconds apart in the fourth minute of action. Freshman long stick midfielder Christian Hantson got the Greyhounds on the scoreboard with a man-up goal off a pass from freshman attack Jack Minetti with 9:39 on the clock. Susquehanna netted two more goals while junior midfielder Adam Twist scored a man-up goal in the final minute of the quarter to make it 4-2 for the River Hawks after 15 minutes of action
- Susquehanna opened the second quarter with three straight goals to stretch the edge to 7-2 before junior short stick defensive midfielder Finn McGovern hit the net for the Blue & Grey. The River Hawks answered just six seconds later while junior midfielder Hunter Klapmuts made it 8-4 with a goal at the 6:39 mark. Susquehanna scored once more to take an 9-4 advantage into the intermission\
- Klapmuts found the net again just a minute into the second half while senior attack Ryan Kokoszka and Minetti tallied goals to make it 9-7 with 7:21 still to play in the third quarter. After the River Hawks netted a goal, Twist and Kokoszka netted man-up goals to pull Moravian within a goal at 10-9 after 45 minutes of play
- Sophomore midfielder Robert Celona scored a minute and a half into the fourth quarter to knot the score at 10-10 while junior attack Nick Coffaro found the net four minutes later to give the Greyhounds an 11-10 edge. The River Hawks scored twice in a span of 22 seconds to go back on top, 12-11, with 8:09 remaining. McGovern would tie the match again at 12-12 with 3:01 to play before Susquehanna netted the winning goal with 1:31 left. The Hounds did get a final shot off that was saved as the horn sounded to end the contest
- Moravian was playing its first-ever home postseason match, and the Blue & Grey finished the season at 10-7 overall, tying the program record for wins in a season

- Sophomore face-off specialist Owen Deady was 7-for-24 on face-offs with four ground balls while sophomore long stick midfielder Dylan DeNaples had three ground balls and senior defender James Panico added two ground balls
- Junior goalie Liam Kelly registered 14 saves, four ground balls and two caused turnovers
- The Hounds were 4-for-6 in extra-man opportunities and went 15-for-17 on clearing attempts
