Moravian Falls to Catholic in Landmark Conference Season Opener

How It Happened
- The Cardinals scored twice in the first quarter before freshman attack Jack Minetti found the net off a pass from junior attack Adam Twist to get the Greyhounds on the scoreboard. Catholic countered with four more goals to lead 6-1 after 15 minutes of play
- Catholic began the second quarter with five consecutive goals before freshman attack Tyler Bowden broke up the run. The Cardinals scored four more times in the quarter while junior attack Nick Coffaro hit the net for the Hounds to make it 15-3 at halftime
- The Cardinals started the second half with man-up goals while Minetti and freshman long stick midfielder Christian Hantson both had man-up tallies for the Blue & Grey. Catholic netted two more goals to extend the edge to 18-5 after 45 minutes of action
- Moravian outscored the Cardinals, 4-3, in the fourth quarter as Coffaro added two more goals while Bowden and senior attack Ryan Kokoszka each scored once
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had six student-athletes record a point led by Coffaro, who had three goals and an assist to go with a pair of ground balls
- Minetti and Bowden each scored twice with Minetti scooping up two ground balls while Kokoszka and Hantson each tallied one goal
- Twist contributed two assists for the Hounds while sophomore face-off specialist Owen Deady had five face-off wins and a pair of ground balls
- Junior long stick midfielder Andrew Cassese posted four ground balls and three caused turnovers while senior defender Mike Sickler had three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers
- Junior goalie Liam Kelly played the first half of the match with eight saves and a pair of ground balls while freshman goalie Rory Jenkins registered four saves and three ground balls in the second half
